I had a bad day. A few months ago I noticed my oil pressure was dropping slightly. Not a lot but enough to make me worry. I finally got around to dropping the oil pan today while I do the clutch. I first found a zip tie and small washer in there. Probably courtesy of whoever screwed with my car a few months ago at the Sonic car show. I also noticed my stubby shaft had excessive play. Long story short this is the 2nd time one has gone out on me. The last one came loose and bent a rod in my old 2.3L which is why I am back on a stock block now. I got lucky and thankfully have the facilities to machine a race shaft instead and already bought an oil pump for the 4G64. My motor is fine with the exception of the oil pump. Its a goner. I don't think the zip tie and washer had anything to do with it. I really think AMS is onto something with the race shaft thing. I have done a bshaft delete on all my old DSM's and on a few friends. I never heard of a problem but on the Evo it seems like the gear and shaft really do wear away for some reason. This stubby shaft is supposed to be precisely machined to bearing surface quality and perfectly round. Mine is more like an hour glass shape and the surface is absolutely annihilated.

The Spyker was pretty cool. The owner said that it is all Aluminum and weights 2500lbs. One of 55 in the country and one of 250 in the world. The door sill was 8" wide. Diddn't have the sweet maritime steering wheel though ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sp..._Interieur.JPG ). USDM cars must need airbags. First time the car had ever been in the rain.

Yes, very good day at Atco today. Track seemed to be prepped better than usual. I also nipped a faster trap speed of 133. 60fts are getting better and better. Today's best was a 1.62.

Also, my friend went with his convertible AWD eclipse. From what I understand, he set a record today for having the fastest AWD convertible eclipse, running a 10.88 @134. The car is pretty sweet.

EVO/DSM Shootout

Only got a few videos but thought I'd share them from the shootout.
MAP rx7 is quite redic, all these guys ran 9.0x at some point or another. The rx7 even broke into the 8's but never made it off the line on its third run.

Sandy you would have made a good showing with your crazy consistent run tendencies, and congrats on the time. That's moving!
Honestly were not as many cars running as I would have expected at the shootout. I think the event should be renamed "bring your dsm and break it" though based on what actually unfolded.

Went to atco with a bunch of friends. Vids of the sandbox will be up soon but here is my friends Eclipse Spyder that now owns the title of worlds fastest and quickest Spyder
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tymrts8Znk

Car was completely built by himself with a little help from some friends except for the shep trans. Car has a lot more in it so hopefully the next trip will be lower times.
Sucked that i was tryna film the sandbox and the vert separately but they ended up lined up next to each other every time.

Thank you douglas. Looked like a good time, it wouldn't be right if a couple of DSMs didn't break lol
