Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
have a question for the group; what are you guys using to transfer fluid when you're flushing your driveline?
I've tried a bunch of different pumps, most of which are available at harbor freight, but nothing seems to work well. I'm never sure if I'm overfilling or underfilling and I almost always make a mess. I'd like to use something that can measure the amount of fluid going in, but will still work like a pump so I can transfer fluid from under the car.
Any ideas???

The $10 pump i have works ok, but this way is much less messy. Overfilling shouldn't be a concern as the fluid will just run out of the fill hole, correct?
I just use a funnel and long tube. For the transfer case I can rest the funnel on the strut bar. I usually measure the fluid with an old water bottle.

The pumps I use are $3 and screw on to the bottle.
I've tired all the methods you guys mentioned and none are really better/faster or cleaner than anything else, but keep them coming please.
fluid running out of the fill hole is part of the mess I'm talking about. I do full flushes about 4-5 times a year and its a PITA. I just wish there was a more professional way of doing it while laying on my back on the garage floor, lol.

drip pan does work and so do rags. I usually use them both but somehow still manage to get gear oil all over the damn place. I have to think there is a cleaner, easier method than what I'm doing now.
Does anyone know how the dealer does it?

they probably make an even bigger mess.
On the jacks transmission site they recommend making a plug and pumping the fluid in from the drain hole. If you put a valve on that and it was sealed properly you could save alot of mess.
You would still need to drain any excess fluid.

Even with a lift your gonna have to clean up some fluid. They might shoot it in with a air operated system but some will still come out the overflow I would think.
You need a port and a coin in the bottom of both, fill them like they fill beer at the stadiums
Im thinking about shenandoah the beginning of april with PCA.

So my head gasket is holding up well, my car actually picked up some HP for once.. 425hp at 26.8 peak psi holding 25.5 at redline on 93 octane..Intake pulling in 50 lb./min. right now. Having trouble with error correction for ecu boost control so running straight duty cycle FTL..Also running the "fixed" rom version and part throttle drivability is much better but startup needs work and I need to figure out why error correction does not work, might just go back to 96530706 and deal with it.
what happened to e85?
as far as changing driveline fluids? i let josh do mine.
everyone encouraged me to do it because it's "as easy as changing motor oil" (i forget who said that) but i know i'd make the worlds greatest mess trying to do it.
