She has a right to cry. You know those accounts pay big bucks to them. We had a guy who came in to set up a new contract. Well, he was leaving for vacation in China, and gave his personal phone number, and told us to call him at anytime. He was making a big chunk of change on it!
so I have this woman who comes in a few times a week and helps me out with basic admin stuff. Well she came late today and didnt tell anyone, just walked back to her desk and started working. I just went over to drop some work off and she is sitting there in tears... instead of asking her whats wrong I asked her to make me some copies and fedex a few things and walked away. i kinda feel like a d!ck for doing that but #1 its not my business to know why she is crying and #2 I don't really care all that much to ask her. I also don't think its approporate to bring your personal life into work and have it affect others. There are now 3 people back there talking to her and my **** still hasn't been copied or FedEx'd.
I wouldn't consider myself an insensitive ***** for not caring. It's not your fault that she is crying. Why should you have to take the time to listen to someones sob story? Being a ***** isn't necessary, but there is nothing with with a little insensitivity here and there.

that may have been a lil d!ck but lets be honest, we all go through hard times. you need to separate personal life from work. that was a big lesson i learned at this job just dealing with people. If your going through a hard time go confide in someone you are friends with or take a day off.
to show up late w/o a call would **** me off more. you have responsiblities suck it up. you ever think maybe she was doing it for you attention and wanted to get it on marc? haha jus playing, lightening the mood.

I know a guy who made 100k on a single deal with glaxo.
this 27 year old girl that's in our icu and dying of aids that she got from unprotected sex in high school was crying to me today about how she's losing her hearing and can't really hear anything i'm saying. i made sure to smile and say something comforting that i didn't believe just to get out of the room.

Having kids made me more understanding of other peoples plights, but I still get awkward when I see someone crying. I've seen my wife cry maybe 5 times (always from something I said). She's like the one person I can console along with my kids but I get an uncontrollable urge to run away or say something smartass to everyone else. I can get as far as "are you OK" then my patience is gone.
look at that..
Cold Marc, cold.
