Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Oh, I'm running it! I didn't spend all this damn money to drive someone else's car. Thank you though Chu.
I do have a pretty good shimmy at speeds over 65mph. My steering wheel always shook a little bit but it seems to be worse with the new alignment. I don't think its the tires as its always done it. My snows are still on too, I haven't swapped out the wheels yet. I don't really know what to make of that... I need to swap them over and see if its any better. Thoughts anyone?

The shimmy could be an out of balance wheel, try moving the wheels around and see if its goes away.
I was thinking about your front end noise, I have a similar thing going on with my truck. If you have polyurethane bushings you may want to re-grease them, could be source of noise.

I think 1 degree of negative camber in rear with a slight amount of (toe in) in the rear would be right, then for front as much neg camber as you can get. I forget what my front (toe out) is, I have to check. Not sure if you had Steve at Bimmerworks flip the adjustment bolts on the strut, that steals a little more neg. camber. I had a similar problem with getting the right amount of camber in the front when he adjusted. I think he knows the Bimmers inside and out, but Evo's are not his specialty. He will do whatever you want, but you have to tell him how you want the car and how to do it. Steve is a good guy to deal with in my experience, so take it back if you are not happy.

My suspension is all stock MR, no poly at all.
I think I'll swap over my wheels tonight, I need to get a few miles on them before Sunday anyway. Hopefully it will be better straight away.
Thanks Mike. They set my car up with -1.3 front and -1.6 (I think) in the rear. it wasn't Steve who did it, it was one of the guys. Couldn't get both my fronts to the same (one went to -1.8, the other only -1.3 for whatever reason) so they evened them out at -1.3. I see how it feels on Sunday, its its no good I'll have to go back.

Go see Pat at Just Tires off of Swede Rd (202) by me, he has done my car many many times or just take it back to Steve and have him correct it.
If you are on R compounds the more neg camber in the front the better, if just running street tires not as important. If your car is a daily driver, you do not have to go totally crazy with alignment, but setting the car up right with Autox is a big deal.
Pete, I just realized you had that much camber in the back. I wasn't able to get that much on my first alignmnet, and Pat ended evening both sides at like -1.2 or something i nthe rear. I agree wtih Mike on the camber for the front, but was also told that anything more than -3 degrees is useless for street tires, and running into a race compund territory. In any case, I think the fronts could use alittle more, so get that damn bolt moving! I'm excited to test out the coilovers and alignment settings myself!

Well, I do not like your settings (no offense). If it were me, prior to this weekends event I would get the front as close to 1.8 as possible in front and do the rear at neg. 1 with a smidge of tow out. Your car is going to act strange at the limit while Autox. If they got the one side to 1.8 than the other side should be able to get close.
