Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
This picture proves you should do your own alignments. They leveled the surface and string boxed the car. You can level your garage with vinyl tiles and make the box with aluminum pipe and some string for cheap $, no need for the fancy equipment Mr Gerrard is using.
Full disclosure the rear of Evo;s can be a real pain in the ****. Alignments are much easier with 2 people too, one to work the wrench and one to measure for toe and camber.
After attempting and FAILING with my alignment I made Adam come over here to help. It was determined by him my ecentric bolts are toast in the rear of my car, hence my self alignment failure. Right now my car is .2 degree camber and and a 16th" toe off in rear on drivers side right now. Guess what, it handled pretty good last event.
I forgot to post this, but my drivers side was 1.5 degree off on drivers side
amazing what a few shock adjustment on Ohlin Flags can correct. We had to take shock out of rear (rebound) of car from last years settings, car was real loose in rear.So my friqqin point, all you autox & track bishes should learns to do your own alignments! None of these shops is going to spend the hours of attention you would to your own car. Guess what it pays off in the end. Plus it could help you understand your cars set up and what changes may need to be made. Suspension is certainly a learned process on any car, plus most peoples driving styles require different settings, no shop is going to get that right in an hour. 1 cost of an alignment could buy the camber guage needed to do these proper and easy (there is a way to measure and do some calculation, sure the engineers in here could figure all that out).
damn, you got me. i did take a 2 hour nap tho, so that counts for something right? thats a long day for you too. im hoping to be out by 3-4. finally getting cable/internet fixed, im out of movies to watch ha
