Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Thanks for the insight marc and mike. Just to clarify. I don't have stupidly high amounts of power. I don't want some people to think I walk around thinking that. The added power of e85 is nice.
Mike, good advice about the rotors. I figured I do my stock ones in and replace with something like centric. I just got my brake fluid swapped to amsoil so I'm hoping that's good enough. As far as driving my car, just hit me up at next event.

we know, i said that stupid power comment really just to prove a point.
Im quite jealous of you and mark going to njmp. I have to get out their soon!
I agree with the power level on the road course. It's much more important to be able to slow the car down than to get up to speed, you'll see thIs next time a spec miata flys by you cOming out of a turn lol.
I loved it. While the car felt great, it definite exposed some weaknesses that I'm working on. My instructor was a really nice guy and allowed me to run with some confidence. I was hitting about 130 on the straights. There was a vette and cts-v in my group that got handled, lol. It waa ton of fun though. One thing I def learned was that safety was more important than going fast.
One thing I will tell any first timer is to let t instructor drive your car for a few laps. Ask them to drive slow, and watch how they the the line, and point out the safety stations to you. This is not only important in heling you be smoothwith imputs, but also help you to learn where to look for flags. At Lightnign, there are some blind crest where you rely on the safety worker. Some people I spoke to said they weren't even aware of the stations, nor did they see the flag...and we def got some yellows and even one black during out heats.
I'm currently going through all of the club schedules to see what the next possible one I can do is. There are ome PCA events in May. EMRA runs Pocono and NJMP this year also, and offers $100 for first timers. Pete, Thai, and Tim instructs TrackDaze, SCCA, and EMRA, so I'm going to do those events.
On a more important note, I want to extend much appreciation to Petey for his endless support over the weekend to Thai and myself. Pete gave me a new email tune for the track, as wellas helping Thai get the car runnng well. His late night tuning session, up to 12am the night before of the event, helped Thai take home 1st place in his class, along with the Hoosier and Hawk contingencies, as well as set the track record for NASA TTA in his near stock Evo RS. I believe his time was 1:13:xx. Petey surely deserves much credit for his abilities.

good info there chu
I want to make one event now- trying to decide if I should go to one where Carson ISN'T DRIVING
glad you had a good time Chu. I was thinking he's either going to love it and get hooked or hate it and never want to do it again. I can still remember coming in from my first session w/Trackdaze @ Shenandoah... what a feeling!
lolololol. Hey safety is always at the top of my list. My first track day at pocono i was going super fast and had a lot of confidence. Second track day i really slowed it down to learn the lines more, my instructor was mad at me for going so slow actually lol.
