Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
i'll hit you up if it comes to fruition.
hey........could you be offering this because you don't want to see my 750whp monster back on the dyno?
F Chu. I asked that little bish for an update and he never got back to me.
IMO, I would be worried running e85 for the simple fact that you MIGHT run out and have no where to refill. also watching your gas gauge and having to limit your right foot because of it might come back to bite you in the *** by the end of the day when you're trying to get around that 911 turbo.

what do you think? not doable? am i being a ricer? am i too awesome to participate in life and should leave my earthly vehicle and fly among the stars?
the reason i brought it up was because chu told me he went through 1/2 tank per session. that would put me around 3/4 tank usage per session. i'd just have to bring enough of fuel with me.

if it were me I'd just run pump and be done with it. there isn't a real need for e85 for an HPDE... but if you bring 28 gallons with I'm sure you'd be fine.

Dan, you can't "win" an HPDE, save your E85 for timed events like Autox where you have a chance to use it and "win" fo real. Plus the risk of running out of fuel and being stranded is not worth it. Last track day I ran (4 years ago) I was on pump 93 at Beaverun. My car had plenty of power to almost kill myself, no need for E85.

i'll just have to suck it up and get on pump.
i'm off and on the idea from week to week. i don't need all that power for autox but on a 2 mile track with straight aways, the power would sure to be fun to be able to completely wind it out which i really have yet to ever do.....can't do it on the street or autox.

believe me when I say a stock power evo is more than enough car for about 98% of us. I'm at a very low 300whp and I can't stay all the way in the throttle @ most tracks. I'm usually coming off the gas 100' or so before the braking zone. it takes skill but also a huge set of ***** to be able to go deep into every corner at the threshold of traction and have confidence that your equipment is going to hold up lap after lap after lap. The more power you have the faster you go and the higher the stakes.

Marc speaks the truth, no worse feeling standing on your brakes and its not enough to slow you down. Once they get nice and hot they sure don't work like they do when they are normal temp, add that to high speed and its scary!
I really did off my car at 90 at Beaverun (easy course to learn at, real safe with tons of run off room), I was backwards when my car hit the grass. Thank god it was still early morning and there was dew on grass. My Victorracers just glided across grass a few hundred feet. All that happened was a bent ground control camber plate and some dirty underwear after I shat myself. My car was on pump and did not have near the power I have now at all the track events I did.
If I were you I would have a set of cheap track rotors (like Centric brand) and good track pads. You best run some good brake fluid that can handle the high temps. Your car is heavy, heavier than my Evo 8. I cooked my stock pads and boiled my brake fluid first time out at Pocono, I learned the hard way. I think you will have more fun with good brakes out there, really is important.

Dan, my car was making 100whp less than yours and it was plenty fast for my first time out last year..
Tim, how was that game last night, did you stay for the whole thing? I turned it off at the end of the 9th, pissed they couldn't put them away.

Thanks for the insight marc and mike. Just to clarify. I don't have stupidly high amounts of power. I don't want some people to think I walk around thinking that. The added power of e85 is nice.
Mike, good advice about the rotors. I figured I do my stock ones in and replace with something like centric. I just got my brake fluid swapped to amsoil so I'm hoping that's good enough. As far as driving my car, just hit me up at next event.
