Chuster, nah not running a 5 pt. still got the 4pt schroth camlock ASM. just using that as an example. The ASM is passable for most car clubs, but some wont let you run without a nut hugger strap, hence my example.
not looking to get fix backed seats etc while shes still the DD

Dan certainly has the right attitude, you must respect speed, your car limitations and your own limitations at the track. Accidents happen, I am sure everyone of them mentioned are never planned prior too. When I offed at Beaverun, it was just because I placed the car 1-2' over to far mid-corner and caught the rumble strip or whatever the hell was on the sides of track. I think I realized I was too far over and lifted to try and steer car where I wanted. The lifting while mid corner with rear tire hitting bumpy surface cause my car to snap around instantly.
I was in the car myself, had been around the track quite a few times and knew it pretty well. Beaverun is a great learning track, very few walls to hit, lots of run off room, technically an easy track so its good for beginners. I am very happy it happened there and not Pocono or something. I value my health and car too much right now to risk it. Maybe in a few years when I am at a different point in life (mid life crisis - approx 8 years away for me)
Chu, still have your Tial? I do not need partial throttle, its just all on or off, no in between

I've never been to beaver run but lightning is also a very simple track to learn on. Great for first timers but still challanging enough that you want to keep coming back. I just love the rythym it has and how, if you keep your braking light, you can overtake cars much faster than yours. You can quickly learn the track and know what's coming next, there is tons of run off room and only like 8 or 9 turns depending on what you consider a turn, lol. Its only like 1.9 miles but it seems much longer than thunderbolt which is 2.2miles.
those mods should bump you to the advanced run group.
this is just a guess because I didn't actually see either of them happen, but probably because the person that went off track was focused on the wall, so that is what they hit. ever hear the saying "look where you want to go, your hands will follow your eyes". its a very true statement. If you're going off track and you focus on the one and only concrete barrier on track chances are thats what you're going to hit.
^^marc very true. just like throttle induced over steer or when the back end comes around. just focus on where you want the car to go, steer that way, and mash the gas (most situations). unfortunately that is easier said than done and even i have screwed that up. good guess tho im sure thats wat happend
Its a blind crest, you can't see the other side. The lead driver got wide, in the dirt, lost the car, and was sliding backwards to the inside of the turn, eventually hitting the armco. The M3 behind him just chose the wrong direction to avoid him, actually turning into the porsche. The outside of the turn has a good bit of runoff once you crest the hill (you'll see what I mean), 9 out of 10 times, it would have only involved one car, unfortunately it gathered 2 this time.
Marc, Will help out all I can...Perhaps he could use some of the RX8 stuff I have....JIC Coilovers /sway bars/ Strut bats/Bolt in cage/OZ 17" race wheels ? I might be dropping in on your May 13th track day with PCA to hang out. MPG/Pete
