Either Meg's or Mothers recently came out with a spray cleaner to remove rubber and crap form track days. I'll find out the name! Isoprphyl Alc works also. I always keep a bottle of 50/50 mix, alcohol and distilled water.

EDIT: Mothers R3 (Racing Rubber Remover)

Good Luck brotha! You better make the Evo community proud, or face terrible hazing at CBP next month!

I know Stoner has a product that Ron (white & red GT3 RS) uses that seems to work pretty well. I just used some bug and tar and it worked fine on my car.

Oil Ananlyzer seem to have specs on 4G63 motors, and can identify what typical wear rates should be. Being my car is "high mileage," I think it would be a good test for me personally. Based on the thread I've been reading, it seems people who sent in Amsoil samples are being told they can leave it in the car for a more extended period of time as the zinc and phos count were still high.
Me personally, I would never leave it in for that long if I was doing track days on it. I just changed mine the other weekend, I could see doing next months events on it, but that would be all. If I waited till 5k, it would be like October or something...

I'm going to give that R3 a try. Got a gift card to Pep-Brothers and this looks like a good way to spend it.

I'll grab some of that. The paint cleaner worked well but was a bit of overkill because you then need to wax over the area to protect it.

One spot actually had rubber scratched into the clear coat so that needed extra work. The scratches are still there but it's colorless now.

For as far as I could remember, I've always changed my oil at 3k. That does not include tracking or anything. But through alot of research, my conclusion has been that oil manufacturers have made alot of improvements, and that the oil filter is what matters more than the oil these days. With all these claims though, it would be nice to actually have testing and statistical feeback. Oil is getting expensive, so less change will mean more money in my pocket for track days!

On a side not, I did run Amsoil SSO 0-30 and the Amsoil filter one winter, from November to Aprils, with no ill effects. I put about 9-10k on the ca that winter.

If anyone is using any type of cleaner on paint, always follow up with some type of protection. Regardless of how safe and ph-balanced a chemical is, its still and cleaner and will remove your protection layer. Its good practice to follow up and keep yoru paint protected.

Wax/cleaner works fine for me. For really hard stuff, I use scratch remover compound. I also wax before track day so stuff comes off easier. I usually use Turtle wax but I just tried Dupont Teflon wax and like it a lot, it makes the paint ridiculously smooth.

there was practically nothing on your car after Lightning. Just wait till you're spending some time behind cars on R-comps... its gonna look like you ran thru field of rubber.

my car looks trashed after every event but it always cleans up nicely. I dunno if its a white car thing or what. usually I just run it thru the car wash then use the Meguires cleaner/wax, its the step 1 in their 3 step paint cleaning process, followed by a little spray detailer for extra protection.

subtle "I'm faster and more experienced than you" post.

I also wax, at least the front end, before a track day. It def makes clean up easier.
