Ha, Simmonz mentioned that he had trouble getting your car to slalom. All three instructors that drove my car almost lost control due to the swaybar, w00t I got within .4 seconds of simmonz' time in my car. I'm happy with that, he made several runs in it too. I really dig his style of driving, hopefully some of what I learned today will stick.

You didn't miss much, steven let me drive the fmod car, not sure if you were still around then. It felt similar to the first time i tried snowboarding. On/Off brakes and obnoxious grip/acceleration ... but really fu(king cool.

glad you made it home. next time fill up that gas can!

Ben, talk to Rick at importdps. They may have some. That's where I bought mine and I haven't seen them cheaper than what they sell them for.

Btw I happened to buy mine like a month after the price of those things skyrocketed.

Does anyone know who is selling the cheapest Exedy Twin discs right now? I should have pulled the trigger last month when importdps had them for stupid cheap.

I spoke to Simmonz last night and he was telling me about your car. He said he had a real hard time getting the car to transition. Looking at previous posted pictures of your car it seems to be under sprung for the power it is putting down. You could either increase your spring rates (don't know what you have) or you could run big bars front and rear. Changing out front sway bar is a pain on our cars but since you need a clutch you could have that done while trans is out. If I were you I would do sway bar bushings and front lower control arm bushings. all of that would help your car transition. While your at it do the rear bushings, but they could get done whenever versus front.
Carroll Smith - The Pocket Engineer is a great book, he basically is against using sway bars because they restrict suspension movements, he prefers to do that with shocks and spring rates - or - adjust driver's line, alot of times driver is the culprit not the car.. Anyhow my point in mentioning Carroll Smith is sway bars are a band aid but can be used effectively in Autox if a car has weak spring rates (close to stock or stock). I think big bar front and rear (get adjustable bars BTW) will really help your car transition. If you were on R compounds your spring rates would be exposed worse than now on street tires.
If $ is an issue, I am sure you could find sway bars used and bushing would be about $100-$150. Surely A Nygugen hook up would be in order

Ben it was only a matter or time... that clutch owes you nothing IMO.

I am running slightly higher rates, without e85, and it transitions ok, no one has complained.

I am kinda interested in why having too much power could cause a problem while slaloming, since you are generally at partial throttle. Something seems amiss here.

I did not mean it like that. Simmonz made the comment Ben's car has a lot of power but seemed not to transition well. I am making the assumption that the bars would help the car do everything out there a little better, transitions, slaloms, sweepers etc. It is give and take with slalom and sweeper, you need to find a happy medium for car.

The car should turn in better and rotate better with bigger bars, that is whatI am trying to explain - Sir Ken.

I think your car needs higher spring rates and a set of R-compunds to see its potential and maybe a few other tweaks. If you are going to spend $ just buy the right ****, meaning not a big honking turbo!

I traded my Evo X in for a 96 mustang gt. I got sick of the Evo's handling.

See some of you at trackdaze.
