its really funny when you know the whole/true story about something that is being reported on, then when you watch the local news you see/hear how they spin it to create fear/panic/ratings... I hate that ****.

The not so funny part is that when something really goes down, they will try to downplay it to "avoid panic" ... probably at the expense of many lives.

Pete that's some scary ****. Hydrogen explosions are intense. BTW everytime you walk past a platinum draw bench, think of me because I built all but 1 that you guys use as far as I know. I'm starting another one in a few weeks as soon as we complete a few other projects. I didn't even realize you worked there. My company, Onexia has designed and built a ton of systems for you guys.

 

oh a related note - I slightly sharted in my pants today at work. luckily no damage occurred.

 

Our news media blows. It thrives on fear and anxiety. I couldn't stand that past few weeks with the whole debt ceiling and democrats' and republicans' inability to reach "a deal" and that we are going to default on our debts and interest rates will sky rocket and we will all die! That was totally ridiculous! If we did indeed default our debt then all those people (i mean every last one of them) shouldn't return to work because they aren't doing their jobs. That's also the one critical job our president has to do. Forget war and foreign affairs. Pay the F'ing bills and stop trying to defer blame.

To use an analogy, it's like me deciding to refinance my mortgage for a lower rate a few weeks ago only to find that I can't get a rate or terms that I like so I just "forget" to pay my mortgage this month. It's stupid and ridiculous. Americans eat up all the bullsh!t the new media and politicians feed them. It's reason #1, 2 and 3 why I hate what our society has become. Spend some time in Europe (like 2+ plus years) and you'll come back laughing at all the crap you see here.

/rant. Dont get me started on religion.

(P.S. If you're thinking that I should just leave this country, I will in a heartbeat and the wife will be put on board. I like my life and friends here at the moment so I'm staying. Raising a child in a country that instills great values and respect for one another is very appetizing these days).
