I really was just cruising down the straight. I let off around the start/finish and focused on what you were saying and where/how I was going to brake. I think I averaged 100-120ish on the straight and that would utilizing only 20psi and like 50% throttle. In retrospect, I wish I pushed it with everything it had in the straight at least once to see the speeds I could hit. I was doin that at lightning but I was just going out and hammering it for fun and not really being fast out there.

You're really taking alot of risk lately! Don't think I've ever seen you mention buying something you to "give it a shot"

I know. I'm glad you weren't pushing it like some speed crazed maniac... techinque first, then speed. save that speed racer stuff for when there are no passengers in the car.

The straight is boring IMO. I'll get faster on it. I was being told lots of info and wanted to work on braking, getting into forth and late apex-ing turn one. I bet I could get close to 140mph on the straight. I was hitting over 130mph at lightning.

^^ I forgot, it called going friqqin straight technique. Granted if I was instructor in a Newb's car I would not be saying to floor it on straights, but Dan you need to lay that foot into that ish...

So who is betting $5 this weekend? I will give myself a 1.0 second handicap...my raw time + 1 second than multiply by PAX factor.
Then we will take your pax times to compare and figure out winners...

Any takers????

I was only hitting 125 on the straight. I do brake early into turn one, way before 5 even comes up. My car was way under power during that evetn.

Mike, I know what the car can do powerwise and I demonstrate it when I get a point by. Marc must have said to me 100 times to focus on technique and don't worry about going fast because speed will come naturally. On my third session, I was a robot doing whatever he told me to (using technique only and little power). It dawned on me in the middle of 3rd session on day 1 that I just got point by's from most of the green group by just following the line and focusing on what I was told to do.

Dear Mr. MR,

Thanks again for the a/c line! My ish is so cold now, brotha needs a sweatshirt.

Always,

Grillpt

Marc, sadly I won't be attending Warminster. I leave tomorrow evening for Pittsburg, and won't be back till Sunday afternoon. Besides, you can call and get the same deal I'm getting...

FWIW, I hit 120-125 on the straights at NJMP. Generally I let off right around the start finish. I've seen an indicated 130 a few times due to late point by's and people not actually letting me by, forcing me to drive in deeper than I wanted too.

my highest recorded speed on the straight was 131 according to the GPS. I usually see almost 140 on my speed for the quick second I glance down before braking. my fastest laps however show me only hitting 124-125 on the straights according to the GPS.

Generally I like to stick to what I know works... but I'm cheap too, so if it seems like a good deal I'll give it a shot. That or I'm getting crazy as I get older.
