All part of learning. One not only have to learn what to do, they also must learn what not to do.

So my wife just told me that I'm obsessed with all things automotive and that I can't have a conversation outside of the subject.

This is nothing new.

I don't see anything wrong that so much and have come to the conclusion that talking cars is my happy place. I don't want to talk work or the paint colors my wife chose or about food/wine or how everyone in my family is doing.

When I first started hanging out with you guys years ago, I thought you all were way into this stuff and it was all a little much for me but I adjusted so I think everyone else should and we should create a world of car guys.

Thoughts/opinions welcomed.

Effe it, for $180 I'm gonna give them a shot.
Are you sure that's for front pads. Sounds too good to be true. The cheapest I found anywhere else is $260 shipped.

couldnt agree more. I just now, after about 4 years of doing this ****, was able to convince the wife to come and see what all the fuss is about but I still don't think she understands the obsession.

2I did everything as I was supposed to. Pulled the car off, faced the flag station, and waited to be cleared for re-entry. Didn't get shaken up or anything. We were actually laughing in the car. Even the experience Mustang driver couldn't handle his off...lol

I agree. Cars are my life as bad as that sounds. I work on cars during the day, work on cars when i get home. All of my friends are into cars so thats what we talk about because that is what we know. Between my sisters bf, my dad and I no one can get a word in at family dinners After meeting a bunch of your guys and the advice i have received is quite different from other car groups. I was at a s2k meet last week with my buddy and their were no talk of auto cross or track or anything just suspension and wheel fitment. Seems like evo people are car guys and appreciate the car being a drivers car not a parking lot car.

LOL

I am a self proclaimed expert in the subject of Automotive addiction and Marriage.
Your wife has basically repeated what my wife has been saying about me since 2005 (when I bought Evo). No wives understand our hobbies / addiction.. Most wives frown upon them and it causes problems. In defense of the wives they are right, everyone on here is a little over the top one way or another.
Over time my wife has realised I am who I am and its just easier to let me have my fun. On the flip side she needs her time too, since she has no hobbies that occupy time like mine so she goes down the shore by herself for a few days every so often. Her parents have a house in North Wildwood. Now that we have my son, her time away has become more important, besides its only fair. She usually times it when her brothers and sisters are there and they party together. So no kid for her for a few days balances out my local racing and (2) travel Autox weekends per season and (1) long week for Nationals in Nebraska. I do a few other little things here and there but she hooks me up.
Where I hear that comment the most is when we are out at a party with friends and I start talking about my car. Now that we have these crazy phones I am breaking out YouTube videos and that totally annoys my wife to no end. In fact I manage to annoy other wives too at party. I always hear on ride home that all I can talk about is cars and that I am boring and blah blah blah. I ignore those comments because I talk more than cars, she just only remembers the car conversations.

Go ahead and laugh, it will happen to you. It will happen to eveyone eventually, for good reason or bad. Ask Thai and Marc.

Dude, not what you did after the off but what caused you to go off.... I think I have done (3) Pocono and (1) Beaver Run track days in Evo and (1) Beaverrun day in my Acura Integra (Type R day). So in 5 days I only spun pretty bad and offed at Beaverun once and I went off into grass but kept car straight at Pocono (happened on infield part) once.

So my off ratio is 2 times for every 5 events. See why I don't do these track days!
