I'm not laughing that you went off, sorry, it looked that way from my post. I was laughing at the comments about you going off. My apologizes Sir.
I have no doubt it will happen, its only a matter of when.

I know exactly what I did. Sessions 1 and 3, of day 1, same corner, hot in, trail braked, rear came around. On the first off, I counter steered, feet in. I came perpendicular to the car, still on track, and purposely drove off into the grass due to oncoming traffic. I turned toward traffic, facign the flag station to be waved back in. On the second, same corner, in hot, ran wide, saw myself going in, so feet in, steady out the steering wheel. Stayed in grass, drove to the closest station and waved back in. Both offs were well controlled. I did not go flying off track. Too bad I don't have videos.
So Chu, I think by what you typed you did it is obvious what you are doing wrong...
I would say your lift and trail braking mid corner is the reason why the *** end of car keeps coming around. Just like Marc was saying earlier, concentrate on good techniques. I think you do similar things during Autox, you need to brake BEFORE the turn. I am not saying trail braking does not have it uses, but for now it would seem better to do all your braking prior to entry of turn. It is the same for Autox, brake prior to entry into turn, accelerate mid corner or sooner depending on course/turn. Didn't you ever hear Slow In Fast Out..?

Between us this is the real reason I'm selling the Evo. No matter how many times it breaks I love the car and I would keep it forever if it were solely up to me. The wife has put up with my cars for almost 7 years and the Evo has been with me for 5 of those. She's started hating it about 3 months in when she was pregnant and couldn't ride in it without the harsh suspension hurting. I caved and told her I'd get rid of it to please her. I never said I will not buy another one as soon as possible though. I think there's nothing wrong with it but getting her to understand and accept it may be all but impossible.
So my wife just told me that I'm obsessed with all things automotive and that I can't have a conversation outside of the subject.
This is nothing new.
I don't see anything wrong that so much and have come to the conclusion that talking cars is my happy place. I don't want to talk work or the paint colors my wife chose or about food/wine or how everyone in my family is doing.
When I first started hanging out with you guys years ago, I thought you all were way into this stuff and it was all a little much for me but I adjusted so I think everyone else should and we should create a world of car guys.
Thoughts/opinions welcomed.

they have contingency program for Raybestos pads. that would be cool if they had something like that in the east cost. we have Hawk contingency but it's not even worth it cause i can get for same price as contingency.

The second time I went off was in the third session, again inexperience shows. My second session was went well, as I picked up the pace and learned the course and had a good idea of the line. So coming out in third heat, I tried to push alittle more. Again, "cold" tires after sitting through the longest break of the day, and again in the same turn, immediately as the green came out.

TrinityTEK Racing, $100 raybestos for 1st place. that's better than Hawk from nasa which is only $50 and you can only one coupon per set of pads.
