Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
I told you I butchered it the one session... It was terrible. I even commented on it towards the end of my vid. The other session I have from Lightning wasn't nearly as bad, as I was trying to do what you told me.
Still pointed a ish load of cars by.
What will be interesting is how trains in the lower run groups will be handled since we all know each other.
Im sure it goes without saying but I think we should follow the same rules for hpde as far as passing and general conduct at least in the beginner and intermediate groups and violators should be dealt with the same way they would at a regular event (e.g., pitting after an off and 3 strikes you're out). You guys in advanced could probably run open passing. Lower levels should still be passing on the straight, after the chicane, after turn 5, after turn 6 and no passing in jersey devil or octopus.

you guys have your priorities all screwed up. this isn't about Nguyening at NJMP, its about free tee-shirts!
I see what you're saying, Chu, but the ball is already rolling here. I'm just trying to work out the details and get everything nailed down before I make an 'official' annoucement. I've been playing phone tag with NJMP all morning but I expect to have it all worked out by the end of the week.
From the few people I've talked to I don't think we'll have an issue meeting the people requirement we need to make this a reality. Whether we run 1, 2 or 3 groups will all depend on who signs up and how many people we want to do this with. I would like to keep it pretty even with experienced and non-experienced drivers and make this more about learning for the begineers while still allowing tons of open track for all skill levels.

Chu, yeah that's what I meant but I was glossing over all the rules. In a nutshell, all the rule that we follow at a regular event should be applied to this event. Just thinking of safety. We will know each other so I don't really foresee egos messing up flow or safety on the track. So everyone in the lower groups should follow the point by and passing zones.
Remember that dude with the Honda Fit? My instructor told me to "just pass him" after following him lap after lap and nearly running into him for two days straight. It was funny when I told you about him and you were like "so what?!" then you had an encounter with him during session and was like "dude! That guy I the Fit needs to point people by!!"
Ever since that event I feel like I nearly hit every Honda Fit I see on the street.

Well, the new guys aren't going to worry about who's behind them. They're also there to learn to drive and have fun, not worry who they point by and not point by. That's the instructors job. I dont' think I was as aggrevated as you were about it. I was only ehind the guy once or twice. Regardless, I think Marc will have the safety thing down. I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe you can run in the advance group and avoid having to wait for point-by to pass anyone.

I'm not running advanced because I think I'll be ***** footing until I realize what kind of grip and car control I'm capable of. And a beginner is perfectly capable of being aware of what's in their mirrors. Recognizing who is faster than you and pointing them by well before a braking zone is half the battle of learning.
I never got aggravated until I encountered that dude in the Fit. He wouldn't point by then he'd "race" in a straight line but he actually wasnt that fast in a straight line. He just spewed a bunch of burnt oil. When I passed him, it was after T14 on the straight and he was full throttle and not pointing by. I'll admit I felt great being able to give him his straight line race and still spank him on the straight.
