Wow, WTF is going on with this work on my car day. My rear alignment kick my ***, then the cars alternator decides to crap out. I did not do my test run until after dinner and did not know there was a problem. Drove 55 miles last night with lights on and no problems.
I cannot begin to tell you how tired I am getting this thing ready to go and now who knows if we are going to get it running. You know what though, I don't play and I am coming there anyways. we are going to fix the alternator at track and then proceed to kick butt.

Wow, what a disappointing day. After working on car from 9:00am - 12:34am (loading car on trailer included) I was hoping for a little seat time and fun today.
I thought on Friday night after driving 55 miles any problems I may have with car would come out then. Car ran great, had lights on entire ride, car didn't miss a beat. Only problem was I blew the dipstick up and some oil shot out at the very end of my ride. Still thought I was good to go and no big deal. Unfortunately my alternator had other plans last night, it crapped out when I finally started car for my test run prior to loading. We went this morning with the idea we would change alternator at track. No biggie, we lose a little time in morning and salvage day. Well no one friqqin stocks Evo alternators. Dude in Advance called everywhere, then he went thru about 50 boxes trying to find a match for me. We found similar but not exact match. I came up with the idea to swap cores out of alternators so I could reuse my shell. This idea actually worked except they couldn't get pulley off new alternator, so we half rebuilt mine. It still didn't work when they hooked it up to their test machine. At that point I was done, my car was victorious, I lost the battle. SOL today, wasn't meant to be.
Wish I could have ran with you guys, I was really looking forward to it. Guess we will try again next time, my car will be a daily driver by then and hopefully a little less difficult. Hope everyone has a great day and a safe day too!

We will get all the pointing by and passing done next event, I promise I will get out there with all of you.

BTW I need to mention these 2 guys at Advance who helped me. Never before have 2 retail guys put out so much effort when they were mobbed. Between opening 50 boxes trying to match me up and then completely disassembling 2 alternators to try and get me going. They really went beyond to try and help me out. I want to go back there and buy them beers or smoke or something LOL
If anyone needs anything at NJMP, I would go to the Advance in Millville, they are the best!

In case anyone missed the event, there is some video of the Cold Tire Domination. Don't mind the title that's just to hide what it's actually about:

At 3:13 Vinh took a peek at your speedo. Then again a few seconds later. He had to do a double take.

Im pissed my camera battery died when I was chasing Grillo and the silver evo almost lost it in the chicane but ended drifting through the whole thing.
I didn't get much pics, too busy running around but im sure Jesse and his boy got plenty of great pics.

^ I really wanted to see that video too! That was pretty crazy how he drove through the chicane.
Grillo's car looks like it has as much body roll as mine on those springs.

Actually I think he was looking at his eyes to see if he was looking ahead. I like how they have cones at Apex of turn, its a nice visual aide. Originally Posted by robertg

That looked like loads of fun, real nice course there, I can tell from video I would have enjoyed myself compared to driving at Pocono or Beaverun.

He was saying how fast Thai was coming out of the esses after the, so you're probably right in saying he did a double take. I only hit 125 top speed according to my logger. I know I let off way before the markers start going down the straight. I was hitting ABS in every braking zone, Originally Posted by robertg

1:37.0 on street tires, BONE STOCK IX MOTOR down to the paper air filter, full weight & 20psi... come at me, broh!
I put some vids of the last long 1 hour session up in the motorsports section thread. Looking back, I don't know why we all didn't line up and go out for the last run. I was out there and only saw a few other evos. That would have made for some EPIC footage if we all were chasing each other and put this who is king of cold tires to rest. Guess we'll jsut have to wait till next time.
