#1. What is your budget? Its hard to give any advice without know exactly how much you're looking to spend. IMO though, the STI is a great dd, and way more comfortable than an Evo. However, it lacks in the bang-for-buck as far as power mods are concern. It also cost more to insure. As for the Evo, I prefer an VIII or IX over a X. Its cheaper, lighter, proven motor, and a raw deal compared to the X. Not as comfortable, but really a raw performance car.
#2. Kill the ricer in your now...wrap it instead of paint. Orange is awesome, but gets boring quick.
Huh lol?
My take, I think Mike will do fine on the track, just let him sit in Marc's or Thai's Evo for a session or 2, he'll calm the nerves, have track memory and confidence. His natural ability to be able to feel and drive will do the rest. Just like my student Albert at CTD, he was getting point by everyone in his group, running a bonestock down to the tires EvoX GSR, because once he was in my MINI he was more comfortable with apexing using the whole track, braking points and body roll.
Also Thai's line according to those pics ase TT/HPDE lines, not so much competition lines, where you can brake bomb, push, bump, block and defend. Though if you have max grip setup and can stick it(think warmed up R6s or C91 rubber), then Mike's traditional idea of a line is faster and it protects the positon more.

As for your response about painting it orange I am not sure what you mean when you say "wrap it."
My college colors are Black & Orange, so I would love to incorporate that into my car somehow, that's why I was curious and asked the question.
What colors are available for the 2012 MR? I test drove a grayish/steel looking color. Thanks.

That is fu(king awesome!!!
