Speaking of $, lets compare costs of Autocross to Trackdays.
This Sundays autocross expense:
$35 registration, $15 or so in gas including fuel to site, $10 for food = $60

23rd & 24th Track weekend:
$399 entry fee, 75 gallons E85 x $3.38=$253.50, room = $60, food and = $100 = $812.50

I did not include tire or brake pad/fluid expenses either. Crazy, totally can't afford this ish

Mike, compare dollar vs. seat time for both and see which one is a better VALUE.

At trackdaze you will get 2hrs per day, so that is 4hrs/240 minutes for say $900 = $3.75per minute. Autox = $60 for maybe 8-10 minutes or $6-$7.50 per minute. Almost double what a track days value is AND you don't have to stand around all day OR work an assignment.

True track days cost more, but you get a considerable amount more seat time for your dollar, so its a better value. with the above formula you would need to spend between $1,440 - $1,800 at an autox to get the same amount of seat time at one track day and that doesn't take into account consumables like tires and stuff.

Breakdown track time vs cost...

Your room shouldn't cost that much either.

If I was on pump it would be 30% less fuel, so 52.5 gallons x $4 = $210 or $43 savings. Still an expensive weekend regardless.

My car is light besides the air conditioning I put back in. Well that, oem seat belts, oem seats, oem intake mani etc. Daily driver, its good enough. I rock no radio or speakers, thats good for a few pounds.

Are you autocrossing this Sunday? The light evo will be raced then

I will 5-6 runs approx 65 seconds each on Sunday. Granted seat time total is way different, but I will get a good adrenaline rush on the cheap. Thats what were after isn't it?

Thai, I am registered and paid, no excuse fool. I just started thinking about the $1000 weekend and got a little sick.

Gas doesn't cost as much in dirty jersey either.. I suspect we'll pay around $3.50 for 93.

Not gonna cost you $1000.

I don't know if I can squeeze away this weekend. I should go, to shake out any gremlins the car may have but I'll have to see.

^ Do it! Citzens Bank is our best venue. Lots of sweepers and decent speed on course. Perfect spot to shake a car down.
