While the seat time/dollar spent proves a good point, thinking of the amount of money spent out of pocket is a good point also. The initial investment to do a track day is surely expensive, and not something everyone can afford. Mike does have a point with that. I truly think this is why most organizations have such a hard time finding new participants.

Marc, you comments on the cost of tracking may be a bit conservative. I recall the Jarrod (Evolutionary) saying he easily spends upwards of $3k on a race weekend. That's with him taking into account all expenditures. Thats hardcore racing, winning, and braggind rights; not HPDE. I think there is a point to be made on both sides.

i was talking about the excuses why your arm is so tired from giving all the point by.

it was a shock for me when i saw how much i spent the first track season but i'm kinda immune to it now. i could have bought a decent car with the money i spent on the first year.

^Amsoil fluids has worked good for me also. Only once did my pedal get soft, but it came right back. Hit me up for Amsoil yo. My girlfriend has been doing all my pickups lately since she lives near their warehouse!

I've been looking at the new Endless RF650 fluid and that looks real promising also. Apparently as good as SRF at half the cost.

OK, just talked to my guy.

Price is $200ea shipped (retail is $261.45 + shipping) as long as we buy 3 or more sets. This goes for 43s, 41s and 47s. I will order today, they'll ship next Tues (they're away at an event right now), and we should have then by the end of next week (I can give them to you at TrackDaze event). I would like to have the cash this weekend if I order today, can you guys give it to me on Saturday? My creditcard bill is due on the 15th and brotha ain't tryin to pay no interest on that ish...

What says you? Who's in and which pad?

like you said, thats racing, not HPDE. HPDE is way cheaper than actual competition. ITs like the difference between HPDE and those parade laps they do for the hardparkers at lunch, lol.

st47 would probably be too much for street tires. i think st43 are perfect for street tires, and they last a little longer than st47.

Everyone made great points about the cost difference between autox and track days. I know I spent way more that I wanted too for our upcoming event: 400, 180 for the hotel for 2 nights, 100 for insurance, then gas and food. Its the price to pay to have a fantastic weekend on the track.
