That sounds right except for one thing. 6 out of 8 sessions I did not see him near me, he was behind a few times but I lost him never was really close, possibly because of traffic, not sure. The other session you drove my car the entire time, so I am not counting that. I would say he drove the better line than I did that session, 2nd day maybe he got real comfortable or figured out the line or had a great instructor.

you have the basics now, and now you'll just have to try little variation on your on to suit your driving style. i watch marc's video and i know he and i have some variation, he's faster on some part of the track and im faster on others. just like you and shoe drive the same car, but some time he's faster and sometime you're faster.
you have good car control. you just need to be told where to put the car and you did exactly what i told you. at no point where i felt endangered or you had no control of the car. only when you rode their arss in the braking zone lol. that would have been ok in the advance/instructor group when you know other drivers are predictable, but not in the intermediate group.

Probably wouldn't have hurt. What I found funny was that I did a lot of slow down laps at this event. I usually don't do that by choice but the 30 minute sessions were wearing on me (I usually slow down because I'm tired and can't keep it together). When I slowed down, people caught up to me and I pointed them by and was surprised that they were moving at my slow down pace. On the last session, Marc was showing me things and I slowed way down and was cruising with other folk. I'd say it was a slow group.

I'm not trying to argue with you about any of this, I am only telling you the same thing Marc and I told you Sunday.
Why are you getting pissed off (and I'll add; if that pisses you off, reevaluate what you are doing out there--red mist wrecks lot's of cars)? They are on your bumper because they are faster than you. Big deal. If they are on your bumper for an extended period of time you aren't pointing them by quickly enough. If you are in the instructor's group and they aren't passing you without a point by it's because they don't trust you. So you give a preemptive point by...give it early and commit to the line you've told them you are going to take. Problem solved.
I don't know if you had your student in check (my comment about "controlling the car" was a general statement about instructing, not actually directed at anything I saw you do on track with your student). I do know that your student was way off line in several places after he was solo'd on Saturday afternoon--Again, I NEVER saw your student on track while you were in the car, so I am not sure what you taught him, only that he was not doing it right without you. He did seem to get his act together for Sunday and was putting in some pretty good laps, mostly on the proper line.
Yes, there were other unpredictable instructors...I've talked with a couple other guys that complained about two of them in particular--one guy is a BMW CCA instructor and said he won't instruct with TD again because of how bad he perceived these couple of instructors to be while on track (both in the red group and while instructing their students). I know who he was referring to (he did not mention you).
Laps times be damned...I wouldn't care if you turned a 1:30 in an advanced group if you were doing it predictably and consistently--I was that guy when I had my Miata; slower than any other car in the PCA advanced groups (mostly GT3s and Cup cars). No one had a problem with me because they knew where I was going to be in every corner and on every straight.
Moving on...
My first session on Saturday...only video I have...it won't be done rendering for another 25 minutes or so, but will be here when it is done:

Points taken and thanks for the clarification. Because I felt like I was the only person being dealt **** when I know there were others.
Love your video at 17:45 I was leaving room for Thai to go inside, slowed down(no need to point by in red) for the pass staying on the line and but he didn't go and so I said F it and I took off.
shortly after at 17:55 when you said "what are you doing" I went into 3rd at WOT instead of 5th on the straight. I went into the pit after that once I made full circle, thought something was messed up. That was 1 of 2 of the 4th to 3rd gear mis-shifts. Session 3 was the 2nd one in the same spot.
mike, i just watched your video. was that the last session of yesterday?
it just reminded me of the retarded people out there just like that one dude in the black evo that practically stopped when he saw a yellow flag on the entry to the lightbulb and gave me the thumbs up like i was his ****ing student then proceeded to drive all slow. i nearly got into the back of him on the entry to turn 1 then again at 3 and 4 then again at 5 when he pointed me by. i guess it was a warm up lap.....
one criticism to your driving and i am guilty of it too, is when you start to get into traffic or behind someone, you start to run their ****ty line too. that's all i got for you.

sorry I wasnt able to get out there to watch you guys. Got real sick on saturday, dad couldnt go sat, and I promised him I would go mtn biking in french creek with him on sunday. but from all the posts and videos seems like you guys had a fun time.
was there a black e92 (or w/e the numbers are) M3 4 door, black with tinted windows and 18x10 wide NT03s on it? Thats my buddies OTHER car while his evo is being rebuilt engine wise. he has just been racing for fun without the evo, was at hyperfest, and was trying to make it to NJMP, didnt know if you guys saw the car or not.
this may sounds like a stupid question, but I am sure you guys are used to it from me by now. does anyone know how to wrap a harness around a harness bar? I am thinking about getting a cheaper schroth harness for the passenger seat so if I ever do race there is a harness for an instructor etc, but I have never wrapped them before. I am sure I could follow the instructions, but guess, live, break, learn, works for a lot of things, but safety is something I will not chance. when it comes to safety, it needs to be done right the first time. looking at the rally 3 in particular from HMS motorsports, but never wrapped the harness, mine was wrapped by my friend/instructor in DC. thoughts/opinions appreciated, payment could be made in good beer (love you wegmans). lmk

Think I'm just gonna have to do some track days alone with the Evo before I meet up with y'all on the track again because I need to get this car situated and dialed in without the complaining.
here's me taking Chau out in the first session on Saturday. it's funny how much i talk with my hands in the car, didn't realize that till i saw the vid. telling chau where to put the car and not follow the car in front. lol
at 2:00 mark, i see a e36 behind me, i thought it was marc and slowed down, then saw that it wan't marc (it was Justin) and took off.

thai, your absolutely right! hopefully it will end up with me getting into some hpde's, starting off in the novice group and working my way up. although with all this hate going around (i have no idea, i didnt read anything but the last page, just dont care enough bc i wasnt there), maybe its better if i dont come along as a novice to avoid all the haterade!
first thing is getting the car back then maybe painting the wheels a different color because I am bored with the way the car looks. hopefully have it back this week and then decide.
need some expertise in regards to wrapping the harness because although i have done it, i have only done it with the supervision of someone who has done hundreds.
there is a secondary reason for the harness, one that will hopefully make all you old heads happy in picture form, but that is a month off, so for now ill just leave it at that. harnesses + shirtless models = good pictures. cheers a gnite!
