^ take the BR cooler off and sell it for cash. you're not competing, power shouldn't be that important for you. get the car to handle first, then add power later.

Pete, I think you're better off keeping the FMIC and just getting a new couple along with getting it tweaked so the pipe & inlet on the FMIC line up correctly. Some of those boost clamps I mentioned wouldn't be a bad idea either...

Agreed. You've had it for so long without complaints. Don't let a pesty coupling ruin it for you now! You won't get much for the old style I/C anyway!

That sizing sounds correct to me... I don't see one listed on ExtremePSI's website for one that size. Everything they have is universal though. Please look around your crib for me if you don't mind.

Thats kinda what I'm thinking. Not that I need to make the car handle better, cause I think thats fine, but I wouldn't mind getting rid of the weight.

Its not going to line up better than it is now... Its a fixed object, there's no room to fanagle it. It was never an issue till this weekend so I know it can work, just not sure what to do...
Going back to OE is appealing in the sense that you know its not going to be an issue. After sitting out so much this weekend I just want the car to reliable. I don't like paying for track time and not being able to run.

I only have $200 into it, I know I can get that. It ain't gonna line up better than it is now. I'm even going to have to take it off just to get a coupler on it.

If you're gonna take it off you might as well install that tow hook while you're in there.

I ook for the coupling when I get home later. And if you're in there, you might as well replace the pistons. LOL

the bead on the pipe needs to be fixed. it's crushed, thats why it keeps popping off. it sucks to pay for track time and have to sit out for most of it to fix your car.

Pete, you have an Evo 8 turbo? I think I also have and Evo 8 j-pipe at home. My neighbor also has a bead roller if you'd rather fix yours.

That certainly could be part of it.

This intercooler came with a J-pipe, I assumed it has to be used with it to line up (which is doesn't very well). Yes, it is an VIII turbo, and I still have my OE J-pipe.

Anyone else want to give E85 a try at the track?
the one session i went out with fineberg, i drove half session and he drove half. the tank was almost full when we went out. i had to come in early when i got fuel surge cause it was low (lost about 2 laps). so we nearly used a full tank of E85 in a 30 minute session

You guys did a good job of finding speed all weekend, nicely done!

Great weekend...Best I managed was a 1:19.89 on Saturday...might have been quicker on Sunday morning before the linkage vanished, but wasn't running timing. 90% of my laps were 1:20-1:21.5...I am happy with that, since I was shooting for 1:20s for this first outting.

Also, I wish I had known Peter was only going to be there for part of Saturday...I really wanted him to ride with me since he races (and wins) SE30s on this track...

I likely won't be out to another event until the October TrackDaze event...

Was Robert out taking pictures?
Yes I took some. I'll post them when I get a chance.

I didn't miss e85 one bit after this weekend with Fineberg. Gas is so much simpler and hassle free to deal with.
