I just started yesterday, though this week it should be bombarded with pictures. IF you have any interest in my build progress you can just keep refreshing the link above!
will you be at the event? i'm trying to hook up with someone who will be going to the event already to make transportation easier. at this point, i'm still 50/50 on weather to do GTA or not. i will be there do nasa TT on hoosiers, so i would just put on street tires and cat for the last session to do a few laps for GTA. seems like a lot of work and money just for a few laps. but media coverage would be nice. but if i win GTA, that would pay back my entry fee.
^^Negative, there is a very high chance of no O'Donnell. Prior personal engagements. #snapscatisoutofthebag
In regards to attending other events, I will most likely skip running RTA>A at the end of month and Aug. Though I'll go on the Saturdays and probably take pics, do pit support for Thai or whoever if needed, and lend out my HFcat to whoever needs it. Why? because reassessing costs ($475RTA+550GTA+race fuel+traveling+lodging) and where I'm at in the motorsports seat time, build and budget there is no point of dropping $1400 to be placed 4th, 5th or worse, when I could use it to buy a new set of racing wheels and other things I'd like to get.
looks like the new Enthusiast Class aint going to help me much. im screwed with the carpet and head liner. although the rules does say that things can be modify to accommodate a roll bar, which my head liner was removed for roll bar and i can say i removed the carpet to weld in the roll bar. would be BS for me to bump up in class because of those two technical. also, why didn't they change the tires for the Enthusiast class and make it 180 tread wear. that will give it more separation from the Street class. and 180 TW has more options for enthusiast. less options for the 140 TW for the hardcore street class.
