anyone know where i can get some good, certified, race padding for the autopower bar? trying to get prepped for next weekend in a hurry.

also, who here has bled their own brakes? I know in theory how to do it, and can get a bleeder pump, but just curious as to how long it usually takes to do all the brakes, assuming there is no air bubble issues etc?

coming back to PA tomorrow if anyone is around and wants to meet up. going in on sat for my new emissions and inspection stickers, should be a good time all around

edit: also if anyone is or knows someone who is selling some crappy wheels with good winter tires on them, let me know. otherwise its 265 Z1s all winter!

takes me about an hour, and that's lifting each wheel up individually.

Goto Napa or Autozone and get a set of speed bleeders for your brakes, then it becomes a one man operation. Just pump the brake pad and goto nipple you are working on, just release and you will be good. The speed bleeder have a check valve in them so they do not let air back into line. I have the speed bleeders on mine, installed them this past winter.

Keep in mind you will need to keep an eye on the speed bleeders, because they can go bad. A good rule of thumb would just to replace them every so often so they do not get worn out. If you search on here you will find a thread with the part #'s for the speed bleeders.

thanks for the advice. Speed bleeders sound like the way to go, making it much easier and quicker. I will head over to Napa this weekend and see what they have for selection. I will make sure to keep an eye on them to look for corrosion, thanks for the tip.

chu, ill check out baker, see what they have. Import DPS has some generic stuff, and IOP racing has some selection, but need to search around. Really dont feel like taking the bar out just to race one day.

petey howd work go? You were there late man...

I have a motive power bleeder you can borrow if you want. I also have a couple vacuum pumps that you can use if you aren't comfortable with the motive. Bleeding brakes is something you should get familiar with if you plan to do a lot of HPDE's. I can show you how to use them both. I have speed bleeders on my calipers, but IMO you really don't need them if you use the pump or Motive. I've heard stories of them failing and I'm just waiting for the day it happens.

I have a brand new set of 17" Blizzack LM-22's sitting on the shelf if you need some winter rubber.

Don't try and bend over backwards to make this event. If it doesn't work it doesn't work, no sense in being rushed around. These things come around all the time. There is a PCA event @ Thunderbolt towards the end of the month I'm probably doing too.
