I don't notice gains, but I do notice how much more smoother the engine is. The MAF adapter plate I have now has rounded edges, and made a noticeable difference from the Vibrant one I had before.

Might as well install an intake tornado while you are at chuster, mabye an electric supercharger? No need for a velocity stack on a car with a maf, its just pointless

The problem I'm running into is finding a decent filter that fits a 6 inch O.D housing.

I found this, this is where i found my filter

I thought I told you to keep that info between us Mr. Co-driver.

Are you still interested in a technical discussion?? I've been doing a little bit of research on friction circles lately. Not the most indepth topic, but its something that I find very interesting...

Yes, I realize the MAF sensor is a huge restriction, but the minor differences in the MAF adapter plates I'm using seem to have a difference in "feel." I know the Evo X and RA have different MAF sensors, and I really think the stacks work well in those applications.

is it though? I thought guys going to SD didn't realize any significant gains from eliminating the MAF...

i think its better you don't get it.

how do you debate a topic like that, lol. I'm just really more fascinated with it than anything else. Like the fact that you can hold the same G's laterially that you can fore and aft... think about that for a second. When you brake you're applying around 1.5x your weight or more. the fact that you can do the same laterially is mind blowing. The key really is weight transfer and how smoothly you do it.
