In keeping with the subject somewhat, do any of you guys use a seat set up with racing games? (something like this..http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-3744474..._2131_60880804)
Are they worth it versus just playing in a regular chair in front of the computer?
If so, any recommendations? (as much as I would like to have a $50K Intel simulator, it just plain isn't going to happen
)
Thanks!
I've looked into them, playseat seems to have a nice set-up paired with the Logitech G27 steering wheel seems to be the hot ticket. I have a sparco evo 3 sitting out my house dying to be used but I just dont have the room. I am thinking about the Logitech DFGT for the GT5 though. Originally Posted by goforwand

We'd all likely be running 59's on the North Track in GT5 then reality would set in when we actually had to drive the car on the actual track again in the spring Originally Posted by Mike01gsr

I have an extra seat which would be put to good use as well....I've seen some DIY's of constructed seat platforms that can fold out of the way (to a certain degree) and they don't seem too difficult to put together....maybe another project for Mike and his handy-dandy welder!

I had looked into getting an extra EVO seat as well for a project like this. Like you said Patrick, the times on track would be nothing like the real world.

I'm not a big video game person (My 10-year old kicks my butt on every Wii game there is) but alot of people say that these cockpit-based racing games can help keep your reflexes sharp in the off-season as well as being a lot of fun. Plus they help if you are going to a new track you've never seen (next year at Road America and Autobahn)....seems like I'm in justification mode Originally Posted by metalsaber

then you will not only have money for 1000 of those $300 steering wheels, but also enough spare cash flow to buy another evo.
it's simple really.

Some of these set-up's are very realistic althought this one needs a visit from robispec or Anze for a slight spring rate adjustment Originally Posted by Old Eagle

buy your significant other an antique tiffany's ring. then turn around sell it for a HUGE profit. then go out and buy a mansion with straight up cash.
antique wedding rings make incredible investment vehicles.
