This was the little toy that BR was running for their dual stage boost control. I just don't know what the advantages of this are over having a stout ECU boost configuration. It probably holds boost very well, and you can switch between two boost settings with just the flip of a switch, but at $400 there were cheaper alternatives that could be programmed more for gear dependent boost, etc.

That thing is HUGE.

Jim how often you plan on switching between fuels? For $400 I think I'd rather turn my mbc up or down a few turns and log it for accuracy.

Yeah, I would never get that. It is massive, and there is a much cheaper solution that has more options. I am going the ECU boost route for sure. Just wanted to explain what I was talking about on the previous pages.

Are you having trouble with boost taper on a mbc?

Is there some limitation with the gm 3-port BCS and 3/4-bar map stock ECU, gear dependent setup that I am unaware of? I am curious what I'm in for down the road?

No, I never had that big of an issue, I hit ~31psi max and it tapered to around 28, so it held boost very well. I am just going to be doing map switching and want to log via the OBD II and possibly run gear dependent boost down the road.

There is not a limit of ECU (3-port) boost control, that I know of. Travis would be the one to answer that, as I am just a rookie.

What intercooler you looking at purchasing? Something like a gently used fmic could get picked up for a steal on the for sale forums.

none that I am aware of?

your limited to what your map sensor will read - jdm 3 bar is only good for reading like 30 or 31 psi, i cant remember of the top of my head but its around there.

I was going to sign up, but saw all that rain coming. We will have to setup some night event so I can get the car back out there. And hopefully with less people.

I didn't stick around for group 3. I spent all my time with one guy in an sti today... I would deff rather have an evo. A young asian kid had his first time on the track today and the sti fellow and I were right behind him when he put 2 off in T8, over corrected and brought it around backwards off the track and litearly jumped over the hill and landed on its roof. The driver and the instructor were lucky to get out unscathed! The car actually didn't really take any damage so I took a bundle of pics maby thinking it could be great to turn into a track car for cheap!

Everything looks to be just body damage and broken control arms/suspension... Could be a crap shoot tho if the frame is twisted....

*Figured i'd throw up a bunch of pix because there's never any sort of pix in this thread.
Funny the cd player and what not came flying out because they weren't bolted in

Cool that's what I figured. I was just wondering what that fancy twin solenoid was and why it would be needed.

How do you screw up turn 8? It's not even a turn.....you're supposed to put 2 wheels off (4 wheels off if it's nice and dry )

Seriously though, glad no one was hurt
