Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
What turbo did you go with? I heard there was a little wait, because I was thinking about sending my Green for a little refresh, but there is nothing wrong with it and didn't want to wait for its return.
Hta86, t3 flanged, 4-bolt 3" outlet, .82 a/r hotside. Just like my previous turbo, but a lot more ***** and a lot wider tq curve. I sold my aem box and my 35r so it was pretty easy to dish out the 400 bucks for a brand new Garrett.
Going speed density on the stock ecu. Trav, ox or any of you other data dorks
(j/k) have any stock ecu advice let me know cuz all I've worked with for the past 3 years is aem. My friend Shawn is setting the ecu up as we speak and he's very knowledgable so I'm hoping for the best.
Just got tired of aem and wanted something new

dude, are you phrasing your stock ecu help in the form of satirical buschur comments?
im straying away from aem because i hate it, i know the stock ecu is more than capable without having to deal with a maf. just thought you and trav would be helpful

He seems to be doing quite well with the Stock ECU and certainly isn't recommending said injectors anymore. The guy is a businessman and like all businessmen, they are out to make money.
I'm giving you a hard time holiday. I agree he makes a good motor. He hurts a few along the way but overall they seem to perform well at the level they are raced at.
Travis knows as much if not more than nearly anybody about the stock ecu. Its because its all we do. You know how some people are comfortable with standalone brand X, well that is how travis is with the stock ecu. The problem is that it isn't his full time job and I keep telling him to quit helping people because its more headaches that its worth. When you don't make money at it, it takes time, time is money, it is a loose loose situation.

alright then, sorry for the bother. if you ever have an aem question or something I can help you with just ask. my time isnt too valuable to help some local in need
We are waxing philosophical at this point. However I'm biting. So basically what you are saying is what I've said all along. Be careful what somebody says that is interested in selling you parts. I don't are who it is. It can be the guy at the ACE hardware store or the lady at the lunch counter.
Eric, I believe that used to be the case before the stock ecu was hacked to bejesus and back. Now that speed density is an option, there's no maf restrictions and the ecu is basically fully programable without too many bugs. Plus injector scaling isn't an issue.
Standalone ecu's no longer have the benefits that they once did. In the Evo platform they've been rendered obsolete
