Umm not sure of the year on the Gixxer.

It was a close run but Evo FTW !!

Basicly I didn't brake boost at all and well of course the bike got out on me good he put lengths on me due to turbo lag. But the top end of the Evo is just plain nasty , I had to run in 5th pretty good but I reeled him in and pulled past him rather hard in 5th so.... Now all this being done at 35 psi not my full potential of 40 psi.

I think if I were to start the race a little different and not give up such a huge hit , plus run my car to it's full potential and I truly believe I would have owned that 1000 by top of 3rd and been pullin on him hard by top of 4th @ 9k rpm+

Never knew they had never built a 2.1 L IX before, no rear main seal was included when I explained I wanted to replace all parts that were a direct bolt up to the motor. Overnighted coilover to Robi in hopes (and promised) to get it back today, no answer on the phone, no fees ever charged. Have to delay tuning of it because we can't seem to get the motor back in the car because of so many god damn problems.

At this point I just feel really bad for Mike. Time and time again he tries to squeeze me in and get things done and rolling and more problems arise. What could have taken a week or less to do is now on week number two with no looks of getting any easier.

New ID2000 injectors arrived today, which sort of made it a little better, but also made me depressed that it is taking this long. I am not trying to add fuel to the shop wars fire, but this should not have been this difficult of a build, and I needed to vent somewhere.
The 2.1 motor is not a 4G63 block hence it's neither from an 8 or a 9 it uses the 4G64 block and an 8 or 9 stock crank with longer rods hence the destroke motor. So I'm sure some retro fitting would be in need with both an 8 or a 9 head

I understand that is a 4g64 block, but I was told it was machined and ready to drop a 9 head on and it would be good to go. Instead they put the entire rotating assembly together so if I had to drill it out, I would have to take it all apart to make sure no shavings fell inside the oil passageways. Instead we just decided to clean out the threads and go with a -AN fitting, but it is considerably smaller than the stock 9 oil line that was run with the banjo fittings. I hope it will suffice for the MIVEC oil demands. It is just the fact that I was told the thing would be ready to go and it has been hurdle after hurdle. The water pump thing especially has been pissing me off, as its like I argue that is the wrong part (they assume I am wrong and have to check with the techs and call me back), then a few hours later finally they realize its wrong, sent me a new one and that still might not work...

The clock is ticking and every second is just more money in labor and more time the car sits in the shop, useless.

I am not trying to bash. Really. I am just frustrated. The parts they manufacture seem quality and the price wasn't too bad either. It was probably just a confusion on their part, or just an off week or something. Just frustrated, want this build to be over.

Just saw exhibit A, Dan. Looked like an 05/06 and unless he weighed 240lbs or short shifted, I don't think the duc will run any better than it. Another 75-100whp and you might walk me completely.
If I don't get an evo by the 8th (no bites on the bmw yet) i'll bring the ducati to the meet and well see what's up

Don't like how they put out rally cars that are on fire.

The oil leak...Someone texted me the day it happened.....bottom line there has to be more damage than you know.....The oil pump was running dry and overheating...Take the old pump apart, check and see if there are any heat marks.....Bottom line running a motor wide open for an extented time, oil doesnt have enough time to return to sump,, need a bigger oil pan at least six quart......check cam bearing ,, main bearing....I bet there is a hidden demon...
