THANKS to Mike

Big "THANKS" to Mike (mitsmaster) again for doing a great job on my latest EVO purchase. The Exedy twin and Shep tranny are really...smooooth.

Got the boost controller/gauge shipped today...so I'll talk with you about that...

I'll be up at North Park with the new ride for sure.....in April.

I will accept paypal membership fees. Welcome to the forum.

Well, shopping around for some built internals. Building the motor in the next two weeks or so. Looking at Manley all around. The 4340 Crank, I-Beams and the AMS spec pistons. Throw on their head, add the new ECU boost I just received and the Full Blown double pumper and we should be good to go.

Finally I will be able to push the turbo to its limits.

Edit: Shep will show the t-case and tranny some love too, so I should be okay drivetrain wise. I just want it all to get done ASAP. Now that I am actually ordering the parts, I hate like hell to not have it done for a month or so....

As long as they aren't guys, you're good to go.

Did you find anything more about Shep's 6spd fix?

No. I tried calling today to no avail. I e-mailed TRE for the 5th time and no response. Mike is calling Shep tomorrow to see if I can get a setup. I heard he has been running it for some time and it is holding up well in his drag car, so that should be plenty for me. I barely get on the car, let alone drag it multiple times. So, I am happy to pay good money for his version of the 6 (if he will let me) and report on its daily drivability.

It's just going to kill me to be without the car for a month....

^^

Let us know if he's going to do that for you. If so, I'm going to get mine done as well. Since I have no plans to drag it, but will be running it hard at BR, I just want a little extra security over the stock gears.

Agreed. That and the price to upgrade to the 5 is just so much, and basically afterwards the 6 speed is just a piece of trash that no one will buy. It is exciting to see Shep exploring the 6, it was way overdue IMO. Mike is saying there could still be some input shaft issues, but my 6 is still going strong (a hint of whine) with almost 60,000 miles and 40,000 of them were at the 400/400 barrier. I put in BR shifter bushings a month ago and it really helped out with the shifting and the whine. I am not hard on transmissions either.

Yeah, the cost to switch over is not necessarily cost prohibitive to me, but I like the 6 and would rather stay that way as long as possible.
