hit him up with an email. $100 for a stock hood is a good price

Just took the ducati out for its maiden voyage today..... the break-in run.... all I can say is HOLY ****!!!
Thing is a wheelie machine! can't wait see how it stacks up against the 650whp beast in a couple more weeks.
-BlueberryYumYum, sick looking gsxr, LOVE the blue rims on those!
-Metalsaber, I'll be there on the 3rd instructing. I'll have the red elise so you know who to look for if the weather is clear

Spent all day polishing the Evo. Tarmac black looks sooo nasty when clean but unfortunately it's impossible to keep clean. Here's the run down:
-used a porter cable 7424 random orbit
1st stage menzerna super intensive polish with orange pad.
2nd stage menzerna super finishing polish with blue pad
3rd stage poor boys 'black hole' finishing glaze
4th and final stage p21s pure carnuba paste wax
only got to stage 2 today, but holy ****. The paint looks like glass, I'm very happy. For how little I cut into the clear coat the paint correction is very noticeable. Stage 3 and 4 don't require machine application so I'm gonna tackle that bright and early tommorow.
If any of you locals are into detailing or want to learn, hit me up you can borrow my orbital

Sounds like it will turn out well. In HS i got a job at Kenny Ross Ford in the detail department doing this kind of stuff. Did it for 8 years. I still try to do it once a year but after not doing it every day, I lost the 'touch' as i burnt the paint on my wing last year. Originally Posted by holiday63

If you dont want to pay for that high dollar stuff, Toona Automotive in N. Huntingdon carries all kinds of industrial stuff that works just as well for the same price or cheaper. I prefer anything made by Malco. I use everything by them from their buffing creams to their GP to their spray shine for quick touch ups. Since you own black, you might want to look at a paint sealant prior to putting the carnauba finisher on. Wax shines but sealant protects. Use both to get the best of both worlds. I've not found an all in 1 that works yet.

Big thanks to Curt. Picked up the hood tonight. Will have to get it in for paint soon. Can't wait to ditch the CF hood.

For those interested, I posted up a quick summary of the build (starring Mike "I love re-wiring cars" Sabina) over in the Motorsports Section.
