That's the puzzling thing Brant, my temps were 179 steady as a rock at all times. Most of my miles in that car were logged and it never ran hot even with the headgasket blown to hell. I pretty much ruled out heat and can only assume the head lifted, br sold me a warped core head, or I'm missing a big part of the picture.

Glad you got your car figured out by the way

I am not a fresh meat local, and I am not buying into anything. Trav knows his stuff. I have talked with him, and he has helped me out with a couple of issues with my map free of charge. Nice guy, helpful, and very knowledgeable.

hahaha, man i'm just gonna let that one go. there's too much funny wrapped up in potential response to that statement, you can feel free to go ahead and fill in the blank with your own witty quip.

Brant, or anyone else who may know, can I remove the metal o-rings to check the deck level? They aren't copper and they don't need replaced but I don't want to snap one either if it's an issue to re-press them

Petey...perhaps if you had anything useful to contribute to the Evo community, people might have f an ounce of respect for what you say. Unfortunately all you bringto the table is negativity, trolling around looking for the opportunity to start an argument.

Yes,trav has helped me a lot with getting my car running solid, and he offered the help without me asking....

So all I can is that everyone has a choice. ...you can either help people and be decent or be an ***

So, my car has broken down twice in three days. A few days ago I had mike pulling his hair out over a single wire in the harness that had shorted out and blew a fuse to the ECU. Yesterday, during the typhoon, the engine just shuts down again. After many obscenities and nearly breaking my hand off of the steering wheel, a neighbor invites me into his home to take refuge during the storm. After many stories of the good 'ol days out at Keystone and 4 delicious PBR's later, I hitched a ride back to Baierl with AAA. The overly friendly neighbor even gave me a Pens t-shirt just for stopping by. If your Evo desides to go DSM on you, try your best to break down on Peebles Rd. and look for a little man offering Pabst. It really helps take the edge off.

Sorry to hear about that. Mike was talking to me about your wiring situation.

For those of you guys with Coilover setups on your cars, would you mind if I was able to get a ride in your car? Mike is trying to steer me towards the Works/Ohlins. Just trying to get a idea on ride quality.

Eric, get BR to buy an actual timing system and you would get alot more people out. It is fine if you want a super low stress event.
I'll pass the word along on the timing. There is allways human error in timing, but for competitors that want good & reliable timing, the human factor has to go out the window.

I met a gentelmen today at the track who just picked up an electric blue IX that was pretty quick. I told him about the forum & Mitsu Mike being the man to service, so, hopefully we'll have a new local on board.

Mike is correct. I have much cheaper megans and while I like them the car rides very firm.

When I get my car back on the road next week you are welcome to come for a ride in mine. I bought a set of robispec kw3 race clubsports off of someone who had them dialed in by robi himself, they are great. Mike found one leaking oil the other day so I overnighted them to robi for him to fix, should be back by tues or wed

you can't go wrong with ohlins though. I have heard nothing but good things about them. If I hadn't picked my robis up at such a good deal I would have gone with ohlin.

they lower it perfectly and I beat the **** out of them when I first got them and they handle great. Perfect for street and track use. Can't wait to try them on the track.
