PCD: Last year's version
Love Monticello. Mad jelly of you guys, would have been great to of gotten back there and seen how much faster I could go now being as I'm not a complete noob anymore (still a noob, just not as much). I'm sure I would have scared myself in some of those faster corners.
Alan was MAD lucky that didn't happen elsewhere on track. Did you happen to get pics of the aftermath? Amazing the wheel was able to stay on the car while letting the rotor and caliper remove themselves, lol.
^I talked to Alan at the GTA event about the heat checks on his rotors looking scary. Thai told me last night Scott or Ben drove his car and mentioned a steering vibration. Man, thats scary...
Very scary.
this track was HARD on equipment. I boiled my brake fluid on Sunday, twice. Mark F lost his brakes a couple times too but that crazy fool doesn't pit in when it happens, he just takes short-cuts so he doesn't have to brake, lol. Also found out the torque limit on the ST43 pads. They work well on street tires but nowhere near enough stopping power with hoosiers (duh). Also notices a little fluid seeping from the bottom crossover tube on one of my front calipers. My brakes are tired and in need of a rebuild. I was hoping to make it thru the year without touching them but looks like it ain't happening.

the ST47 worked great, didn't notice any fade at all with 6-8 consecutive hot laps on A6 tires.
if you got brake fade problems, i fell bad for you son.
Very scary.

Thanks to Moses of FueledMag & Real Time Attack for this awesome pic:

this has to be the best pics I've seen of my car on track to date!
there are 3 shots I'd love to get of my car at some point
1. shooting flames
2. glowing rotors
3. lifting the front inside wheel in a corner
I refuse to buy a photo of my car unless it has one of those three shots, lol.

I have the calipers off my car you could borrow for the time being if needed. The dust boots are cracking, and the caliper looks like crap, but they work otherwise. No leaks! I have new front caliper on my car right now. Was going to rebuild those for spares, but haven't had the time. LMK.
one of the major reason why i don't use two piece rotors on track. i know they have major advantages and race teams use them but they have the budget to replace them every race. as budget racers, we often push equipment as long as we can to save money. i've cracked many 1 piece rotors but it's not as catastrophic as 2 piece rotors failure. when the ring separate from the hub, it's game over.
Not anytime soon bro!!! lol. You can hold them until next season if you'd like. I wanted to rebuild them as spares, not just for me, but so we could rotate if someone needs. Well, except for Dan becasue his **** is weak!!! I can't drop them off this weekend if you want to plan for it.

Thai, all I hear is wah wah wah I didn't win my hoosiers because of double dipping c5 vette, and mad excuses son. Maybe you should have had an instructor this weekend or someone sit in for Monti. Maybe ask Phil or Mike for some tips next time since they drive awd boost buggies and are faster, or are you too good for that?
Actually both TT2 and TT3 were dominated by C5s right? TTU was won by a Element Subaru with the FTD? Thought Subys overheat or blow up?? I thought Monti is hard on hardware?
It's always easy to point out things when you're not directly involved in the situation as you can see. You guys been giving me ish like this for a good amount of time, acting like gods gift to track.. dominating HPDEs, just saying don't dish it if you cant take it.
