Try shrugs on back day. You can use the bar right after dead lifts. Because of my shoulder injuries, shoulders usually takes me the longest because i do many an exercise to keep my shoulders in good working order.

I was thinking the same thing. When we were doing cages for off- roading we would mount the seats directly to the cage. I figured you couldn't do it in a car because of the seat height, but g-forces in an accident might be too huge if something doesn't "give". I don't think the auto power is a bad cage, it's basic, and they sell all kinds of upgrades and extra bars to turn it into whatever you want. Personally I like the idea of NASCAR style bars because of the way they spread the load in a side impact plus that extra little bit of room between the bars and your hip is comforting.

I was going to take the Evo to work this morning but the sun came up so I'm glad I didn't.

In other news: I decided to calculate my MPG in the corolla the last two tanks of gas this week and it was 35/36 mpg. That's a lot higher than I expected. What do hybrid realistically get 40-45 mpg?

I couldn't justify the cost of a hybrid for that bit of a savings in fuel. I would justify it for a diesel though.

im curious what the definitive purpose of a floor bar is. i would think the upper structure of the cage would keep the car from buckling on side impact...

i also like the way this one has bars that run from the main hoop to the rear legs and between the rear legs which the autopower does not.

this is two evo wrecks now that the seat has ripped out of the floor pan (the evo dynamics pikes peak car did the same)
Floor/sill bars: Keep the cage from twisting. Many sanctioning bodies are requiring these as a minimum standard on the passenger side. A car will crumble and twist pretty dramatically without these as a minimum.
Door bars: Keep other cars out of the cockpit. Either an "X" or NASCAR bars are required on driver side (many people run NASCAR bars on driver side and an X on passenger). A modified/bowed X-brace is really a good way to go on driver's side. I wouldn't do any racing without an X on both sides (at minimum).
Rear stays/down tube cross bracing: You are better off with an X between the rear stays than that one horizontal brace (that looks about useless). See Marc's or my M3 roll bar as reference.
Rear stay/down tube to main hoop: Some classes do not allow for additional bracing here...it's a good idea if allowed.
Main hoop diagonal: One diagonal running from behind driver's head to the passenger floor is a must.
Main hoop horizontal brace/Harness bar: needs to be at correct height so harnesses are at the right angle while going over shoulders.

Oh, and: Read the rule book for whatever sanctioning body you are planning to run with for cage requirements/allowances. Then, read the other sanctioning bodies' rule books to make sure you don't do anything that will prevent you from running with them if you decide to later on. Make sure materials are sufficient for your vehicle and meet the rules.

Finally: Weld the tubes together. Don't bolt cage pieces to each other. It's one thing to bolt a cage to the car, but when you start bolting the main to the front stays you are just being stupid.

The mpg on the 328 with mixed driving is about 33-34 mpg over 19 thousand miles. I couldn't justify the cost of a hybrid if i can get that kind of gas mileage in a sporty/luxury type of car. I would justify it for an f30 335d though.

We are registering three cars for the August 9-10-11 Lemons race at Thunderbolt. We will likely have a couple of seats open in our Integra for arrive and drivers. Obviously we are still working out details and who from the core team is participating, but if you are interested in signing up, please email me directly oneday dot js at g mail.

By the way, I started my first yoga class yesterday. Its a 6 week program here at work for 35 bucks...me and 10 other ladies. Some hot, some not. BOOM.
in for pics of you in yoga pants...

The girl I'm seeing teaches yoga a few nights a week and on the weekends. She also keeps asking when her ride along video is going to be available for viewing, Mr. Cantor...?

I haven't driven the evo since i don't remember when. Poor thing just sits in the garage, its a shame really.

I don't think I was running video when I was riding your girl, I mean giving her a ride.

328d gets 44+. All of the emissions stuff on diesels suck though. Will participation in Lemons bump be to black group and give me instructor status?

I don't really see you bishes spending money on a fire suit, gloves, shoes and H/N restraint go to race a few lemons. I've seen a lot of talk before. Just saying.
