Using a bench as a guide to do azz to grass squats, though touching bench is slightly below parallel. I see dudes all the time with mega weight and no movement, squat, chest bench press dumbell and barbell, I am not going to be one of them. Bench is forcing me to go lower, had to drop some weight to be able to handle the movement, no ego here just want to have correct form..

Deadlift is hovering at 205 for set of 8. I basically warm up with 135, then move to 185. I do 185 for 2 sets of 8 and then 205 for 2 sets of 8. I am trying not to roll back or anything, trying to keep good form, chest out back straight no rounding. I do bent over rows after that and seated rows but I think that is to much. I really like working out back, but the night and day after that low back is sore. Need to change up my routine soon, been doing the same thing forever. Why I stick with same routine is its actually 2 routines combined, so each week it changes so I am not repeating same exercises.

Who else on here works out besides James, Chu, Pete and me? Well I am talking to you guys because no one else gives a crap.

I think my elbows are getting effed up again.. Did arms last and upped the weight on shrugs. Not a good idea.

Went for pretty good bike ride after dinner tonight though. I need to ride more, been slacking this spring.

Damn, leaving me out of the work out crew?!?!

I personally don't understand why people use a bench as a guide for squats. If you watch any power lifter, Olympic lifter, of crossfit gymmer (word?), your butt should be as close to the floor as possible. I dropped my lifting weight significantly doing 4 second negatives with long range of motion. Makes for better strength while lowering your chances of injury. Next time you go to squat, throw 135 on there and go ALL the way down, and see how many you can do.

I would go with the BFG R1 or Hoosier R6.

If those those don't work for you, V that guy has some good advise.

you guys seen this cage before? Ive been looking at options lately after the PA crash and the motoiq article that showed how the cage and floor pan acted, and the autopower just looks like a waste of money to me...yet i dont want to rip apart the whole car and weld something in...yet.

its bolt in, but feet get welded to the car. FIA homologated. looks like stable energies in NJ is the sole US dealer too, and i know those guys. price looks to be in the 1000-1200 range USD.

not necessarily a good thing
you will see pros who squat real low but that is because they have very good ankle/hip/hamstring mobility to keep their hip from going under, or they have a strong enough back to handle a slight "butt wink"

About 90% of the people who squat real low will get a butt wink, but don't see any real pain or injury unless they add a significant load which then adds pressure on the spine and cause disc issues.
This is the very issue I have dealt with over the years and i have no idea until the past couple of years what the real issue was until I videotaped myself.

A bench as a box is an essential training tool and should not be ignored.

This is how you properly use a bench or box to provide some benefits to your squat. You are separating the positive and negative portions of the movement (thus preventing some who "bounce" at the bottom from doing so). Box squatting also teaches you to sit back as far as possible and get use to that feeling since that is the proper way to squat is to activate the hips instead of making it quad dominant.
you can see here how the person is not "sitting back" cause the knees to shoot forward and also make his butt wink as well. Sitting back in the squat should keep him upright (thus saving the back) and keep his hips firing during the lift.

Read about that, the floor buckled a bit and the driver's seat actually moved out of place - that's scary but they are supposed to fix that for the next build plus other modifications.

AngryAZN haz a cage, maybe he know.

yeah thats the article i mentioned. the previous motoiq spotlight on the car shows some cage details. their cage extends more to the runk with a bar that gos between the rear strut mounts (which are boxed) plus a floor bar right behind the seats.

either way the the safety devices piece looks to have more triangulation which would help in the case of a side impact like that more than the autopower i think.
