Suits can be gotten for pretty cheap...I know this guy that sells them.

You don't need to own a H&N, just the mounting hardware, we usually have enough devices to share...but I am surprised alwaysraceswithoutah&n hasn't bought something yet...cheap insurance.

I can't say for sure I would do it right now, but its something I would certainly like to get more educated on. So, a suite and gloves, thats all thats really needed? Are shoes a must as well?

You either need a single-layer suit and Nomex undies or a muli-layer suit (no Nomex undies required), plus SFI rated shoes, gloves, socks, and either a useless horse collar or a H&N (as I mentioned before we can probably share devices--I think we have six HANS and a DefNder). Figure less than $500 for all the gear you would need plus whatever H&N anchors cost...this is assuming you have a full face SA05+ helmet.

It can also be set up to share a suit, if you really like the person/s you are sharing with...not gonna be with me...especially for an August race. We also run Cool-Suits so that is another investment for a shirt ($100ish) if you want to use that.

I think with any form of w2w racing, slow or fast, I'd want a decent fire suit, not a cheap $300 one that's heavy and uncomfortable. But that's just me.

That cuz you be a super pimp, All-Pro, balla. But, I don't disagree with you. I always advise customers that they should buy the lightest suit/helmet they can afford. If someone isn't sure they are going to do this often, then the lower price of entry is an easy button solution. Especially if someone is trying to get in at a low price.

I had one of these inexpensive suits for my first two races, then ponied up the cash for a better, $700 suit that is lighter (both carry the same level of fire protection [about 3-5 seconds worth). I plan to sell my current suit and get an even lighter one later this year or early next.

I can get Pyrotect (least expensive, as quoted above), Alpinestars, Sparco, and OMP suits for those that want to wear the same gear as their favorite F1 driver and have the money to spend.
