Foren and Honda-grl are proof. Keep in mind though, your fuel consumtion is going to go WAY up compared to what it is now as you get more comfortable with the car and move to a faster run group where you aren't held up in traffic.
I'm not bashing 93 in any way, or think that anyone not running e85 or race gas is slow. That's not what I'm getting at or what my mind set is at all. I just wanted to lessen the price for MYSELF, while staying at a similar power level.

I'm still researching my options, and if 93 ends up working out then I'm definitely going to be going that route!

You're definitely right on fuel consumption. I think I only got a handful of clean laps all weekend, and sometimes got the shaft on point-by, as you saw Marc. That Mini Cooper was baking some serious cookies.

Dirty Joe. Remember that the faster you become, the more fuel you're going to use up. So your math is great for teh time being. But as you get faster, that 22 gallons of 110 will become 30, then 40. So E85 in turn become 40 and 50. I've ran E85 in my pass, as have other PCD guys, and we all think its not worth it. Unless you truly only do TT, which only go out for 3-4 laps per session, the cost/benefit is not really there. I think I was using 1/3 tank is the mild sessions, and close to half in the last session with Thai pushing me.

Take what we're saying to whatever its worth to you and do what you want. I know you don't want to take a step backwards in power, but do you really need the power you're making now for DE? Same ? with the Nt01's... there is no trophy given out at a DE. There are two things they say that hinder driver development; power and grip. You have lots of both. I'll bet in the long run you would be an even better driver if you turned the boost down and went to a normal street tire. Not to mention it would be cheaper. MOre power = more fuel consumption & more heat which will take its toll eventually on parts. More grip = more consumables used (pads, fluids, tires) and for what? Thats why I love the rain, its easy on both fuel and wear on consumables. not to mention fun.

yeah, the instructor in that mini must have been a sleep or something.

Worst car I saw out there by FAR was that sliver vette with the shark teeth. He wasn't in your group though. This f-ing dude would NOT point people by then just nail it on the straights. One shession towards the end of Sunday I came out with him behind me and as we were merging on track he totally avoided teh blend line and cut in front of another car who was already hot. Talked to the driver of said car (shiv in his z4) and he said he was behind him to two laps honking his horn and flashing his light.

I saw this same dude at Pocono and we was just as clueless.

Gotcha! Makes perfect sense. My math was right, but ony for putting around in The novice group with a few true clean laps. Once I move up to solo, and get entire sessions with clean laps, that's when my gas gauge will plummet.

Thanks guys! Makes no sense to run E85 and do full sessions. Would be stupid to have to lug all that gas. Especially because I enjoy running full sessions and wouldn't want to only run a few laps.

My plans are to definitely run TT, and not just stay in DE. I just need to work my way up to it.

I fully understand what you're saying though, Marc.

Damn, he was that bad?! Did anyone say anything to him after the session?!

I dunno if anyone said anything. Come to think of it there were a lot of guys with broken rearview mirrors at that event. The dude with the plate Venom 09 was another offender. Im pretty sure I have video of that hold-up...

E85 Math: Mike and I used 10 gallons this weekend. That was for a total of 32 Pro Solo runs (which includes drag launches). Each run was ~33 seconds, for a total run time less than 18 minutes.

Factor in that autox does not have long straights at WOT, and you can see how fast E85 burns up. In fact, I think Mike could not even finish a 20 minute shession when he was on track last year with E85.

Damn! E85 is definitely out of my sights.

Car is going to go on the dyno to see what it'll make on 93 with the FP White. Next plan of attack is sending it out to FP for an upgrade to a green for $800. That'll put me right where I want to stay.

Just a plan though. FP has a 3-4 week turn around time, and I'm at NHMS in 2 1/2 weeks.
