PCD: 2013-2014 Till We Break It Edition
While y'all were dominating NJMP, I was dominating 1st gear auto-x. No, that's not the name of the club, I really used 1st gear the entire time. You can see why from the course map. I pulled into the lot in the morning and immediately said..."oh, ****!"
Like the Shoeberg Team, the SteinZerb Team took 1st and 2nd out of 40 cars, by almost 1.5 seconds. I ran with this club last year, Lancaster Corvette Club, but this is a new lot so I had no clue. Some of the guys from the RTR Porsche club attended this event as well, including a nice GT3. I also thought the Omni there on Rivals was going to give me more trouble due to how tight the course was.
You could say the left front got a little abused...

Damn, Marc, I can't believe how far that Vette slid. That's insane!
And that AutoX track looks like they let a little kid scribble, and that's what they used for the layout...

just watched scott's crash. the wheel was still turned when he got on the gas, which is probably why the rear came around. can't believe how far it slid. he told me the impact was at 25 mph according to gps but can't believe how much his body moved. i'm seriously looking into getting the sparco seat with removable halo now
Shoe is right, they may be the worst course I have ever seen. Please do yourself a favor and never run with that group again. If you are in Reading your not that far, come to some other regions autox's that know what they are doing.
Groups like the Corvette club, Porsche club etc. have horrible courses usually.

Porsche club in Susquehanna region have decent course cause they use the Hershey lot and Alen Posner kinda knows what he's doing.
I got dizzy watching the in car video of that course.

Tim, stop wasting your time and money doing those events. I probably would have left once I saw the course... Wouldn't be the first time I walked away from an autox before. I can't even watch that video, just made me feel sick.
Wet grass is like ice, btw. I wouldn't be surprised if Scott's car almost gained speed headed towards that wall. Certainly wasn't going to really slow down at all.

There were so many DNF's after the AM session, they had an instructed course walkthrough before the PM session.
That still didn't help some people. I even had 2 DNF's in the morning, but was fine in the afternoon.I am pretty sure I almost drove the entire course looking out of my side windows. I even went full lock on one turn.
Who's pumped for Lightning in two weeks besides meh?
Also, some of the PCD guys are going to be running a double header at Summit Main and Shenandoah. We will be doing Saturday with FATT @ Shenandoah on July 27th, then heading over to Summit Main with BMWCCA on Sunday the 28th. This is a good chance for you bishes to see both awesome tracks in one weekend.
I emailed the registar for BMW to see what he can do for us if we get a bunch of single day entries. I imagine the more people that come the better the deal will be. I'll update when I know more.
