I work fleet sales for Carr Auto group, they're actually a great company to work for. I've been here for nearly three years and been treated well and seen everybody else treated well. We were voted #35 in the best 100 companies in Oregon. The sales force (at least at the dealership I work at) are a bunch of good guys that have been here a while. Once in a while some jackass will get hired but they don't last long. If anybody is looking for a new Subaru, just let me know. I work on salary and I'll just sell it at cost
the rear end hops?? or the whole car shudders?? cause that sounds like your clutch springs are going out already. if you really are hard on your clutch, and wear out the springs, the car will shudder when you're first taking off in first gear. sorry man...
and mine was a clank.. not a clunk.. I know that sounds funny.. but there is a difference to me

My rear end sounds metal to metal to me. And yes the rear end hops rather badly. Not all of the time, just most of the time. And I was wondering if it was my clutch. But, I am not hard on the clutch. No luanches, or drag racing at all.
What's the deal with the free tires for life program? I bought mine at Hannah and am sure there was a catch but didn't read up on it. If I can actually get new tires without having to pay $150 for an oil change with Parts Master $.79/qt and a Fram filter it would be a good thing. I set my camber settings a bit too aggressively up front and am going to need new tires shortly so I'm a bit curious. If they'll run me through the ringer screw it I'll just get new tires, or upgrade the wheels while I'm at it.

No, I've already had a nail in my sidewall. They replace it with the TIRE THAT IS ON THE CAR. The only catch is I do have to have my 5k services through them. It does cost me about 120 bucks. But, these I've been told are like a 12k tire. So I did the math. I can buy the oil for about 30 bucks. The filter is 7-10 for a mobil 1 filter. I have to pay any tire place to rotate my tires. So like 30-50 bucks. already I'm almost at 100. So I pay them a little bit more, and when the tires are below 3/32 they replace them with the same tire. So I figure that it pretty much costs me 100 bucks for a set of Advans.
When I had the nail in my sidewall, I had to buy one, and they replaced the other, free of charge.

I stopped by Beaverton
yesterday and caught up with Mike. He enlightened me about a few things:
The guy is really nice and likes to think he knows what he's talking about...I just wish he would realize he hasn't a clue sometimes, and his overconfidence can cause damage to the Evos he's repairing...like when he assured me my front camber is non-adjustable...obviously he didn't know about the bolts because he put the camber bolt on the bottom on one side when he put everything back together...and didn't mention I needed an alignment after that so one of my Advans was shredded in no time...
yesterday and caught up with Mike. He enlightened me about a few things: - Evo VIII's and IX's are getting stolen because DSM guys use those turbos...even though they are twin scroll and spin backwards from the DSM turbos since the Evo IV...
- AWD cars don't launch as well as others, that's why at the drag strip you just have to catch them at the end....even though they have 2x more traction...
- When I was talking about 60' times, he kept referring to 0-60mph times...so obviously they are the same...even though I've never seen a 0-60mph time on a timeslip...

I think maybe you are overestimating the skills of most mechanics in general. Compared to most he's top notch...
