Need: Remote start installer

Hey guys, I got a compuStar remote start/alarm system and I am looking to have a shop to install it for me. I talked to a couple local stereo shops they said they couldn't install it on manual cars. any suggests?
Thanks.

There is a remote start package on the market now that has a plate that puts killswitches around the gearshifter. I'm not up on the stereo tech anymore, so I don't know who makes what now, but it is out there and available. Since day 1 of remote starts, there's a huge liability factor on manual cars as there's no way to keep the car from starting in gear, (if you're lame, uncreative, and only reading an instruction book) but with a couple of relays and some killswitches mounted around the shifter it can be done 'safely'.

I just recently installed a compustar alarm in a friends car. Those kits have a manual mode where your car continues to run until you open and shut the door (as you would when getting out). Basically making it so you can't leave the car in gear when getting out of the car. So, remote starting your car while in gear requires you to take specific action to trick the alarm.

I can understand a shop not wanting to install a remote start that didn't have such protections in place, but it seems silly to not install a remote start specifically made for manual cars.

S&S bargain in Everett. Ask for their best price on the install and then haggle it down. Good people and great deals.
