2012 Software Reflash on a 2011 Outlander Sport
The dealership mentioned that the two TSBs we have listed on this thread are now done in one reflash. I have an appointment for this afternoon, $49 for the 2012 reflash.
Does anyone know exactly what the camshaft "008rev" reflash does on the 2011 Outie sport?

For what it's worth
From what I have read on another site the reflash is for the crankshaft/camshaft position sensor(s), and a cold weather start/unstable idle fix.
That would imply that the reflash is a simple adjustment to the timing.
Adjusting the timing used to be as easy as turning the distributor to advance or retard the timing of the spark. Now, computers adjust the timing for power/fuel economy/emission control, hence the required reflash.
My Mitsubishi experience is nil, but my general mechanics aren't bad.

So I had the reflash done. As mentioned, it does have the car drive funny as it is relearning itself. The ecu has to relearn air and timing, so early returns I can't offer. First impressions, the idle is stable and the car under throttle and mid rpms under acceleration acts like it might be stalling, or the injectors need to be cleaned. But already the low to mid rpms feel stronger, like mivec is working earlier and smoother than the previous 3,500 rpm mivec engage point. More to come!
