Missing 4wd selector Button
For what it's worth, I have a year 2014 model built in July, 2013 and my selector button lets me go from 2wd, 4wd auto, and 4wd lock. Also there is no doubt in my mind I have a 2014 model due to the sticker, and the rear pass through delete (I don't even have leather), and basic six speaker setup.

Just kind of sad that
had been deleting so many little things off each model-year ever since our vehicles came to US market it's now difficult for the dealers themselves to tell us what's suppose to be on the different trim-levels. Let alone for us to be sure ourselves. But, we'll get to the bottom of this soon enough.
I'll swing by my dealer later today and see for myself.
I get the Outlander Sport back from the dealer today. The buttons WAS missing and it has been installed. ALL Outlander Sports in America with AWC should have the button. Once I get the service sheet I will be able to post the ticket number that the dealer used when calling into Mitsubishi. They verified via the VIN that the part was supposed to be installed but it was just missed. It is a button and not a knob....
This is a 2014 Outlander Sport SE with the Touring Package (I know the wife wanted navigation and leather, $$$$$)
I have to admit, the glass roof with the LED lights on a bright full moon is a rather unique feeling.

Guess Dallas-ites just don't do 4WDs?
Which is strange due to all the 4x4 jeeps & large trucks roaming the streets.

Good&Bad news there. Good that you got your button installed..but, makes me wonder what else was "accidentally" left off. gees...
Well, I'd say keep a sharp eye on everything and don't hesitate to bring up any other issues/problems that you find.
Things that's on the top of my head (that I documented already):
> "deformed" Window seals
> "crusty" coolant @ reservoir hose
> latest recalls (pano glass adhesive & left strut.)
I was in for an oil change last weekend and I sat in the 2014 Model.
Noticed that it is no longer a selectable knob, it's a button that says 4WD on it, car wasn't on so I couldn't test it to see if you can still select 2WD or Lock, I found that change interesting.
Should have took a picture now that I read this thread.

Mine is a 2014 SE with AWC and I have a button ,,,2wd 4wd and 4 wheel lock all 3 modes by pushing 1 button , sales man did go thru that part with me , not much else ...lol glad the manual is full of things.
Up to 350 miles on it , I have a metallic sound coming from the exhaust, sounds like a loose bolt ,kind of a faint rattle ,dealership said " exhaust system needs more time on it to tighten up" ? ....uumm shouldnt it be tight from the factory? They said to give a couple hundred more miles and if it doesnt go away to bring it back ....

We have had two 2013 O.Sports SE AWDs - First one with up to 3,000-ish miles (before it R.I.P) and this second one has 18K now... BOTH has never had any kind of metallic / rattle noises coming from the exhaust area. And, I have documented ALL issue(s) - if any on our vehicles.
So, I'd advise - If you still hear that noise after another 100 miles.. Take it back and have them witness it with You on a test drive then have them put it up on a lift to check underneath.
> but, I bet it's just a loose heat shield.
