I've got a video I can upload of what happened when I tried to run higher bump settings on the rear shocks - even with the rear bar set to low. Let's just say the back end walked out mid-turn 2 at Pacific raceways, that progressed into a massive powerslide and finished with a whip like 360 into the gravel. It filled my flatbottom with gravel and showered me in dust.

I set the rear shocks back to minimum bump after that.... that's why I'm going to get a smaller bar in the rear. I want to be able to use the adjustments of the shocks.

I'm hoping eventually they will get a nice indoor asphalt track here (don't like carpet) so I can get back into it. I think this is the rough list of R/Cs i've owned (all 1/10)

Traxxas Rad 2
Tamiya TA02
Team Losi XX (I don't remember if this was the Kinwald Edition or not...so long ago )
Team Losi XX-T
HPI RS4
HPI RS4 Pro
HPI RS4 Pro 2
HPI RS4 Pro 3
HPI RS4 M/T
Team Associated TC3
Team Associated TC3 Factory Team
Kawada (don't remember the car name....it was their first entry into touring cars)

I had an associated buggy at one point too...don't remember the name. Need to get down to Tacoma and watch some of the runs maybe one of these days.
Nice there are a lot of guys that travel down to Fantasy World to race. It is the best asphalt track around the area. One of the guys travels an hour and a half every sunday. He has an STI too.

I'm runnig an HPI RS4 Pro 4 right now and will be upgrading soon to an Xray so I can run two classes.

the Xray's are SICK. I have a 1/18th truck with a brushless motor too. Goes like 35mph in like 3 seconds

I have went through...

2 Stocks - Best you can get, but it starts to leak around 27-28 psi
2 Turbo Smarts - Its good since you can adjust it, but its loud.
2 Greddy Type S - Very close to stock drivability, with a little whistle
HKS SSQV - Way to much flutter
TIAL 50mm - Great if you are pushing lots of boost and lots of power, but its only VTA.
GFB Stealth - Rice

If I were you I would go with the APS.
Yeah I don't want loud for sure. And it needs to be adjustable...so that whatever I do (within reason) in future it can take. Recirc is necessary too but we will see . Thanks for your input.

Trail braking was rather scary having the back end come around too hard at 100mph+ The Hotchkis I bought is only 10%, 27%, and 47% on its settings and is hollow so its lighter too boot. Figure the middle at 27% is a good starting point. I am with you on little swaybar as possible. Titan has a sale going for $169 on the Hotchkis too.
Works had done the investigation when they were developing their rear sway for cars with basic bolt ons and they found past 24 you started to get into those issues hence why they didn't go past 24 (a tidbit I remembered when i went rear sway shopping after nicking the stock bar).

In any case right now the back is "stiff" as we like to say at home so dial out the rear bar (go smaller) or the rates...whichever one works better for you.

+1 on the APS, definately the best I have driven on. I have had my stock IX valve on for 1 day and it drives me nuts. Haven't tried the Synapse but heard good things about.
I noticed you talked about the noise though....how loud is it? I want something relatively quiet...the Forge wasn't too noisy (louder than stock for sure).

If we had infinite cash and time it would be interesting to see if a combination of lowering the back spring rates while also lowering the front rates so that the ratio is closer with that same rear sway would work better than just changing the rear sway and then adjusting the back bump rates to compensate.

Be interesting to see how this plays out...hopefully i'll get back to the track next year. Car has changed so much though that its going be a completely new learning experience at PR.

I almost went with the Synapse but I decided to stick with the TiAL 50mm for my current upgrades for now and possibly switch later. It is sitting in a box waiting to go on my new upper with different routing (waiting on the routing part). In a few weeks we'll see how it goes.

I don't remember the above in the glowing review I received before purchasing! So far the rear sway is nice, but if I track my car in a year or so I'll have to keep tabs on that!

Eh don't worry...it's bad driving habits. I used to race a FWD car so I like to trail brake rather late. I would probably put it on soft though instead of the middle if you get coilovers.

Codgi the APS isn't that loud really. I mean its a good amount louder than stock but I believe its maybe a touch quieter than the Forge.

The APS is pretty loud with the ARC intake box, but other than that it is really quiet
