Not really (if i understand which way you mean) when you consider that the quality is there regardless of if you buy a used coil kit from Matt as he tests all of them first before sending them out. If you do the DIY kit like I did and you buy yourself used coils like me, then you run a possible risk, but I bought Denso coils like Matt recommends and I havent had an issue. Denso is good stuff and last a long time so it was a no brainer for me. Everything else in the kit is new and even if you buy his new kits, they are obviously cheaper than ST, but I think ST is still a great quality piece.
I prob would have done the same thing in your situation too Dan. I was gonna buy a used pre-assembled kit from SU, but wanted to save money especially after i hopped on eGay and found the coils i needed for $58 shipped.
^werd! I really like how Matt operates too, but unfortunately that made his product less available. I found out I could have gone with an aluminum plate, but it was too late (the CF was the hold up).
Are you going to the dyno day this weekend, Ramses?

I will hopefull be able to swing by for part of it, I forget what time its at...? I graduate on the 30th of this month, finally so I am pretty much a hermit until then.
I also have a crack in my manifold I need to get welded up before I dyno again. The car hasnt actually been on the dyno since I made 380 earlier this year and ran out of stock injector. I am hoping to get a little more out of her the next time we go on the dyno and check the tune since adding the injectors when me and Aaron street tuned it, but I might just wait until I switch out turbos here soon and just get her retuned. Although I would like to see how much we could get out of her before switching out to the old green I will be eventually running especialy with the new ignition system.

Quick story:
Forgot to tell everyone I drove a 98 mint TT supra this weekend with 26k original miles and was newer looking that my evo. Buddy brought his friend over to see who's car had the bigger *****. Fortunately for me his car was mostly stock besides HRE's and a few TRD bolts ons...kinda got me worried though. We drove each others car...Supra definately drove "nicer" I think as in better drivability and comfort. Oddly enough it felt like it had less torque than the evo seeing as how the turbos are set up in them they dont really come alive until about 5k. Definately slower than the evo was but I probably have 100hp on him. Handling felt really numb and heavy but he was on Eibach springs and I'm on custom valved Ohlins so thats a bit unfair.
For a 12yr old car though it was really quite and felt extremely tight...I can understand the hype behind them. At 12yrs old my evo will probably rattle itself apart. If the steering felt better I would consider one. But after he told me there was only 106 Supras made in 98 in that color and he paid 50k for it I decided it wasn't worth 2 of my cars considering after he got out of my car he offered to buy it if I ever sell it
One thing for certain though park them next to each other and damn it makes the evo look ugly...that is just one of those cars that makes you stare at and think "damn thats a good looking car for 12yrs old"
