Pricing should end up being like 62-68 dollars plus shipping (I asked).

VDO gauges are SUPER cheap, but I've heard of reliability problems on them...

Thanks for the suggestion... I'll look into autometer as well...
defi will only cost you that much if you go for their top of the line d-link gauges... they make some other gauges that are a good deal cheaper plus u dont have to buy that system link piece to link them all together
I have been VERY happy with the autometers and the price is almost unmatched. the CS series though has PROBLEMS. but only that series. Both their mechanical and electrical gauges are all very reliable. I prefer the phantom series, as it matches my stock gauges best (and will in the Lancer's too), but they have a lot of really nice ones. Again Summit Racing is a really cheap place to get them from too (and no I have NO affiliation with Summit). JCWhitney is also pretty cheap for them but the shipping costs are murderous.
I had never even heard of Defi-D's before about a month ago.... But they look pretty nice I must say!

Here we go. I cut off the bottom flange to get the entire panel to fit and ground out some material to get my gauges to fit and took some pictures. They might not be great pictures because of the flash and my camera sucks. The panel looks awesome, it sits about .5mm - 1mm above the level of the panel. I'm going to get Steve to correct this along with the size of the gauge holes. Other than that the panel looks great installed.
The gauges are Dakota Digital, I got them from the guy I bought my turbo kit from. I'm keeping them for now, but plan on selling them in the future and putting something in that looks more like the other dash colors.
Update from Steve, in short, he made the modifications I suggested and will make the first run of panels.
I did narrow it up, and I moved the panel back in the hole. So hopefully that will work. Otherwise there may be some alternative modifications that will have to be made. I don't want to narrow things up to much more as it will really start impeding the gauges.
I'll get that submitted then and we should have parts in a week or two.
Thanks,
Steve

Another update from Steve:
Jason,
Parts are submitted for cutting. Should have them before the end of next week.
I reduced the height as much as I could, and also releived the holes a bit more to allow for the gauge with the additionally narrow width I spaced them out so that they will be spaced nicely and the bezels will look right. All the adjustments were made!
Once I get them in, I'll send you one right away to make sure that you can fit it, and assuming it fits properly I'll immediately take orders and ship. If it doesn't fit we'll make whatever modifications are necessary, and then go from there. These panels should be good enough that fit won't be an issue. Worst case is an issue with the bottom still being tight, but that should be it based on what you've said.
Thanks much!

Steve mentioned that the panels will get picked up Monday. The shop got behind a couple days and Steve's truck took a crap, so transportation is a bit hard. Just figured I'd let you all know!
Looking forward to seeing the final product.

Here is the update from Steve. Thankfully the panel will get here before I go on my trip to Colorado at the end of the month.
Plates are on my table here. They look good and are very consistent in
their measurements. I tried to check things in a Lancer but didn't have luck
finding one to rent to check. So I'm going to send out one raw plate to you
tomorrow priority mail so you can check the panels. I did find one
"problem" that is on them all. They are too tight to put a gauge in. By
now you are probably like, and that isn't a problem how? Reason is I can go
in and grind out enough metal with ease to make the gauges drop in. they fit
in beautifully and hold very nicely once fitted that way. So there will be
some grinding marks on every panel, but it will be hidden from view when the
gauges are installed. So we just need to get this panel in your car to
verify that it fits on the other dimensions and we'll be all set. They are
much narrower than the previous batch (these meaure only 52.5mm tall). So
the fit should be great overall and just flush. The moment I get word back
from you about the fit being good, then we can take sales right away!

Steve
