Yeah I agree.....i was just suggesting it so maybe you guys didn;t have to go through with the trouble of re-inventing a similar part. Luckily there is a good DIY on this site of how to install gauge panels in that location....here is the link for whenever you guys get a panel...

Thank you for the link. The reason why this panel is being made is because it's a flush mount panel, which that panel is not (it sits above the DIN).

Bad news, I didn't receive the prototype yesterday. Hopefully it will come today. If not, then I have no idea when it will be getting here as it might be lost in the mail system. Everyone keep your fingers crossed.

Ok, the panel came in the mail today. I'll be getting home around 8:30pm EST tonight, and I should be able to get it installed tonight. However, I have a poor quality digital camera (1MP) and the garage doesn't have very good lighting. The pictures might not come out very good. I'll try my best to get it installed and take pictures tonight, but I can't promise anything. At least it's here

Whenever you get around to posting pics of the test fitting, I just may be interested...

I really messed up my back playing basketball last night so I did not get a chance to put the panel in. I'm going to work from home today, and I'll use my lunch hour to put the plate in and get some pictures taken.

Here's the deal. The panel needs to be tweaked in a few areas. The mounting holes are perfect in size, but they need to be moved 1mm inwanrds. The width of the panel can be moved out about .5 mm on both sides. The height of the panel is perfect on the top, but it's a bit long on the bottom. This would be remedied by folding the bottom section flush. The holes for the gauges are not large enough to accomodate the gauges I have, but I'm thinking of borrowing some autometer gauges to see if they will all fit.

Fit doesn't look too bad for a first shot without Steve seeing the car itself ever. How do the panel corners look with the small sheet metal bend gaps in them?

But overall it is pretty decent or not? I'm sure enquiring minds want to know .

Definately interested. 52MM gauges are a lot easier to see than those really small ones in the mitsu kit. I guess the million dollar question now, is how the gauges fit in there with the panel mounted?

I'll buy one if Defi-D series would fit.

Do you have the Defi-D gauges now? What is the diameter for the overall Bezel?

Guys, I haven't been able to mod the panel to get my gauges to fit. This weekend I'll have the time to do so. I will also modify the bottom of the panel so I can get it to fully fit into the DIN. At that time I will mount everything, take pictures, and answer all the questions. I'll also get back to Steve and give him the final word on the adjustments.

I've always used autometer gauges and never had any problems. Shop the phantom series on www.summitracing.com. Basically the majority of the gauges are about 45 bucks. They work well and seem to be pretty accurate (match my EMS's electronic readings).

VDO gauges are SUPER cheap, but I've heard of reliability problems on them...
