So I did a boost leak test last night with the air compressor charging the system through the turbo inlet. I could not find any real leaks and could not recreate the sound I heard on the track. So that eliminates the cheap and easy solutions.
Car hate in effect.
My only option now is to completely remove the turbo system so I can take a look at the turbine side of the turbo. The compressor side looks fine...

I'm coming to the realization that I'll never be able to stop working on this thing. It's got too many aftermarket parts to just get in and drive
^^^so true, that's why the fpred is awesome, bolt it on fuel pump, open ecu, ecu flash, cable, injectors....~400whp easy as hell(you can add meth too for more power
)
then get coilovers, sway bars, alk, shifter bushings....easy breezy nice car that's hella relibable(which is a relative term)
love your car though man, it's ***** to the wall

I'm not sure. When I heard it at the track I "tested" with a few throttle stabs and then just putted around since it was the last lap. I'll take it out for a data logging pull and see what's up. The shaft play seems about right and the compressor side is fine. Maybe the turbine got jacked. I'll also check the joints between the turbo/manifold and turbo/O2 housing. I noticed a bolt missing in the O2 housing the night before the track day, but I replaced it.

I don't think it was but I am new to evo-m. do you touch up your maps and stuff or do they lock the ecu when pro tuned(IIRC you got tuned this time, no?) How is the 2.3 in reliability terms compared to the famous 2.0 4G63 tried and true, tough, long lasting block?
thx.
was that a knock on me ?
