Tsidrift1: Evo IX Project.
Thanks everybody. I am pleased with how the battery relocation turned out!
Correct, its a bit loud for a street car still, or I am just getting to be an old man at 27 haha.
Thanks guys. yes, I threw in some GSC high rev springs and I couldnt believe the change in feel between shifts. I made sure when i tested it out to really rev this thing out to the limiter as thats what would cause the valve float the worst.
I took it out and hit it in 1st and spun, shifted to 2nd and the car just jumped into the next gear. Its been awhile since the car shifted and ran this good!
I will be coming back to you guys to finish that race map on e85 in the spring.
I got it stored with a half tank of 93 on an old pumpgas map for the winter right now.

Nothing new prolly for the rest of the winter on the car. It's driving me a little nuts I don't have anything going on haha.
I've been researching A LOT about the 5g mirage to evo 5/6 swaps though lately. My current evo could possibly go up for sale, to fund an evo 5/6 clone project.

If you hanvt seen, the car is up for sale. I do have a potential buyer in Washington, but I am recovering from my wisdom teeth being pulled yesterday, so I will get back to business on Monday with him.
As much as I would really like to do a conversion, I am learning parts are a pita to find sometimes. Only a couple evo 5/6 front clips in the us right now and they are a little overpriced I think lol. I did find out I can use a brand new rear floorpan from an evo 8 for the awd swap, which is nice as they only run about 600 shipped brand new from mitsu.
That seems to be the hardest part of the swap, as I will leave mine lhd. Only now, I have learned finding all the parts are tough.
I would like to have the car at least driving by the shootout this year, that would be a great thing! If I could spray it by then, it would be even better haha.
Then again, my wife is a little concerned with me selling the evo and just taking all the money and going full bore into another project that could take a year or longer.

have you tried searching some website in Europe for example, a country like Germany, on a few of their German used car websites they have evo 4-6 lhd selling, they aren't cheap but if there lhd evo 4-6 selling out there , they must be parts for them

Just proof or concept, they did make lhd evos before 7 so they are part out there the question is finding them. No I’m not telling you to import one because honestly I wouldn’t know where to start lol, which a whole new can of worms.

Could just use the motor from a evo 8 for the swap seeing as theyre almost identical. Also If you need parts look at www.trademe.co.nz through a NZ proxy. We have crap loads of 4's and 5's and a few 6's. I'm happy to help out with purchasing and shipping anything you need.
Thanks guys, as.much as I would love to build one of these clones, the time might not be right as of now.
Been talking with my wife lately about my future projects and we have agreed it might be better to just keep my car for now. Nothing final right now, but its what I'm leaning torwards lol.

Keep it. I had a gvr4 before the evo and I dumped all kinds of money into it so it would be as cool as an evo. I finally came to the conclusion that buying an evo was the only way to go
I still miss the galant and all the looks. Nothing like a 700hp 91 4 door sedan that looks slow as ****. Even the cops did not know what to do.
Anyhow after all the time and effort just keep the evo.
My evo has also been on a 5 month long mission to get everything working right.

Keep the evo, unless you going to exchange it with another evo. You are going to regret it if you get the evo bug again. She can be a b**** at times but she well worth it
. You put more than enough work to get her where you want it, why sell it now.

haha, thanks guys. As of right now I have two car payments as well, one for the evo, 2 years left, and one for my daily. I would like to get rid of both payments lol. I may just sell my daily and just drive the evo all summer, although, I hate to rack up miles on the car like that(my drive is about 50 miles round trip).
The main goal is to try and pay the evo off with that plan. I hate having two car payments lol, then we got my wifes payment as well haha.
The idea with the s2k, is I wouldnt modify too much beyond wheels and a nice susp. setup for it. I feel like I could just get in the car and drive forever haha, something I dont do at all in the evo, and maybe I SHOULD do this summer.
I mean, the evo is pretty much where I would want it to be. Id still like a trans with the evo 8 3,4 and the 4.11 fd, but thats a long shot right now.
I may just have a case of the winter blues as well lol. This weather is crap, cant take the car out safely, with the tires that are on it, forced to drive my 07 camry all the time, no fun in that lol.
