4 more days till i leave for the Shootout!!! Cant wait been looking forward to this for months now lol.

I was at the shop last night helping Devin put some finishing touches on the Junk Box. I also had a buddy, who is car detailer come over and do a in house exterior detail at Boostin on the Junk Box. I really dont remember what steps he did but all i can say is the car looks 2x better then it did and turned out amazing. I will have some new pics of the car in a couple days. I snapped a quick pic of the car in the process and my buddy who was doing the car didnt know i took the picture lol. Stay tuned!!

Shootout Update!!

I didnt want this weekend to end. This was my 3rd year in a row going to the Shootout and it was by far the most people ive seen. Having a 3 day event was a great idea and it was a great turnout as always. I would like to thank Boostin Peformance for building and tuning this car for me. Car is running amazing and i appreciate their help and time. Boostin Peformance FTW!! Also would like to thank Dave and everyone at Buschur racing for holding another amazing event. All the vendors who sponsored the classes and all the people that came out and put on a great show for everyone! It was great to put some faces to screen names there and see a lot of amazing cars. I am sorry to some who i didnt get a chance to say hi to or talk to.

I got into Norwalk on Wednesday night. Stayed at the Best Western again and went to Cedar point all day Thursday. I was at the Buschur Dyno day pretty much all day Friday and couldnt have asked for better weather all weekend and turn out. We ate at Casa Fiesta 4 days straight I am not going to eat mexican for awhile lol.

Now onto some racing!! Saturday we got to the track around 1:30PM. I planned on making a couple test and tuned passes and one qualifying run. I made a couple test passes and made my qualifying run. Sunday, was race day. We got to the track pretty early. We were there around 7:45-8:00AM. We wanted to park as close to the stands and up front as possible. Our spot was perfect and close by to everything.

The car ran solid and consistent all weekend. I made a decent amount of passes and the car is running great.

9.3@161
9.3@162
9.3@162
9.2@161
9.1@160
9.0@163

I really wanted to get my new personal best this past weekend but it didnt happen. I normally cut 1.4 60fts but the car was cutting mid to low 1.5s yesterday. On the logs the car was just spinning in 2nd and i had a little bit of bouncing issues. Besides that, the car was very consistent and i was very happy about that. I made it into the Final 4 of the Quick 16 and got a by pass because Kiggly's car had an issue. Devin @ Boostin Performance made the Finals and it was me and him in the Quick 16 Final. The last race i tried to slam 2nd as hard as i could and simply just hit a brick wall in 2nd. I was a little bummed about that but it happens in racing. It was fun and couldnt have asked for a better day.

Overall it was one of the best weekends in my life. I truely had so much fun and it was great to meet and see everyone again. I cant wait till next years shootout. I have some pictures im going to post and videos. The videos will be uploaded in a day or two. Im sure there are more pictures out there from the weekend and ill try to post them all up. Stay tuned for videos to come shortly!

UPDATE!!!!!!

Hey everyone, I just want to post that there are a couple changes being made to the Junk Box this week and next. I am finally getting a staging brake and the rear wilwood small brake kit. About time i take off some rotating mass lol. I am picking up the rear brakes Tuesday and getting the staging brake on. I have been launching off the stock E-brake and the car has stock rotors and brakes in the rear. Finally that is all going to be changed.

- Rear Wilwood Small Brake Kit
- CNC Staging brake removing the stock E-Brake assembly
- More weight reduction if there's time.

Those are going to be the changes to the car as of right now. We are going back to the track next weekend! I cant wait. Stay tuned for pics and more updates!!

Im slowly putting her on Jenny Craig diet I think this will help out a lot. Especially its going to be saving a lot on rotating mass. Thats where it counts!

UPDATE!!! 9/5/12

Havent had much updates on the car since the Shootout. But now i do, yesterday i received the AMS rear Wilwood small brake kit. Thanks goes out to Andrew @ AMS for the rear brakes. Cant wait to get them on the car. I have been launching off the stock E-brake this whole time. I didnt mind it but my arm would get in the way of the NRG seat and at times it would be a PITA while launching the car.

Since i got the small brake kit in the rear, i am removing the stock E-brake assembly and last week purchased a staging brake for the car. With the stock e-brake assembly out of the car and the new brakes on, it will be a nice savings in weight and rotational mass. My buddy, who recently just removed the e-brake assembly said its a good 25lbs off the car. Car shoudl come out a lot better and definetly excited in the weight savings and Staging brake. Up until now, i was using the stock brembos and stock rotors in the rear.

I was hoping to get out this weekend to the track but it looks like its going to be next Sunday at the track. Ill keep everyone updated as next week goes on. I really think after a few tweaks and the car hooking up better it can see a 8.7-8.8 pass. Stay tuned!!
