Ok well if I dont make it to the track then Ill see you at Mod. Last time I went to GLD in June they told me my 2005 Snell dot helmet was expired but they let me race anyway. Hopefully they let it slide again this time.

Yea I heard they have been stepping up with the Tech Rules now. I'm sure you will be fine with your helmet. Worse case scenario you can always rent one if it came down to that lol. If i dont see you there, then i def plan to be at MOD.

UPDATE!!! 9/10/12

A few quick updates on the Junk Box. Tomorrow the car goes to Boostin for the Rear wilwood brake install and the CNC staging brake. We are going to try to get out this weekend Sunday but it might be hard so will play it by ear. If not, next weekend will be a busy one for us. We are going to the track 9/21 for a fun night with a group of people. I am bringing the RS and racing that for fun with a bunch of other EVO's. The next day which is a Saturday I plan on bringing the Junk Box to MOD. I have never been to a MOD and heard they are pretty fun. Then the next day Sunday, I want to bring the car out to the track 100%. Weather is getting nice and cool and will be perfect to race the car. That is the pan the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for some pics of the rear brakes and staging brake install. About time i save some weight and Rotational mass!

Here's a pic of the Race Cars:

Mods that will be on the car going to the track on Friday night 9/21 will be:

-Turboback Exhaust
-Halmann Boost Controller
-Intake
-Aftermarket Lower intercooler pipe
-JMF 02 Dump
- Tein S tech Springs
- 17 X 9.5" +38 silver RPF1s / Hancook RS-3's 255/40/17
- Pump gas tune from Devin @ Boostin Performance.

The goal is to make an 11 second pass in the car. I think it will be very hard. I might need a little more ponies to do that. However, when i first got the junk box in early 2009. I went to the track with a Turboback, Intake, Lower pipe, Stock clutch/suspension and tune from Devin on 93 and the car went 12.3 back then. That was on a Hot summer day @ Byron. I really think the car can go 12.0 - 12.1. Will see, it all depends. The RS is still on the stock clutch and has never been out of the car. Hopefully it holds for a few passes lol.

Good stuff man! Are you planning on bringing the RS to Byron before winter gets here? I think it would be a lot of fun to run next to you in the RS! If your estimates are close, it should be a really tight race.

9/21 is probably only the track day the RS will see this year. I'll be going out to Byron is a couple 2/3 weeks with the Junk Box for sure. If I do plan on it I will let you know. That would be a fun race!

looking good joey, i think you can get the rs to run 11's. back in 2010 i had a boost controller, intercooler pipes, exhaust(with two cats which i didnt know at that time) and a 93 tune and went 12.7 flat.

Thanks Bud! I really think 11s are possible as long as the clutch holds up. Like i said earlier, its been in the car since it was brand new. Car now has 80K miles on it. Lucky enough for me, the car was barely beat on and launched. The owner babied the car so that might work in my favor. Putting on new front pads and rotors which my buddy before it goes to Boostin on Monday

12.7 is a great time for the parts you only had. When i first bought the Junk Box back in 2009. I went to the track with a turboback exhaust, intake, lower pipe, and AMS Front mount stock clutch and suspension pump gas tune from Devin and ran a 12.3. That was on a hot summer day. It will be close but im looking forward to trying and messing around. Ill keep everyone updated!
