Guess you should have mounted the seat and pedals in their spots before making the cage!

Moving the firewall seems like more work then redoing your cross bar, I'd think you'll run into the front crossmember.

In with an update before March, smartass!!

Not much of an update but I got the new shop painted and organized, and finally have the EVO on the lift. I've been talking with Chad over at CBRD trying to finalize the rear mount radiator setup. He's working on a custom bad-*** radiator for me.

I had been in talks with the Nemo Evo dudes over in Australia last fall trying to get them to build me a copy of their 1-piece carbon front end. Since they had all the moulds made I figured it would be easier than me starting from scratch. I was just waiting on a final price quote . . . but after WTAC I don't think that's going to work out. However, I was blown away by the looks and performance of the Voltex kit on the Tilton Interiors EVO, so maybe I'll have to look into that and see if it's available commercially or if it's a one-off unobtanium piece. . .

I am in the process of piecing together a spare junk motor to use for plumbing mock-up for the turbo system and the dry-sump system.

Lots of things going on and eventually I hope each one will fall into place nicely. . .

Oh, one other thing - thanks to my bro Bruzewski for helping out in his spare time and providing invaluable input/advice! He may dirty up my clean shop, but he sure gets work done on the EVO! lol

Oh yeah and one last other thing - the block and head should be travelling to a secret destination soon for some final machining before FINALLY being assembled. Only been like a year and a half Anyway, after talking it over with my boys at Pure Tuning we have decided that due to my power goals and intended use, we are going to do a stainless steel O-ring the block with a receiver groove in the head and a solid copper head gasket. Or was that an SS O-ring in the head with a receiver groove in the block? I don't remember. Anyway - double the O's for my engine. lol

A few more pics while I'm on here . . .

Welding cart I'm building for my new TIG welder. . .

View out my front door of the new place . . .

Fireplace at the new house . . .

Fridge just before my first party at the new place

Some turkeys in my back yard. . .

My new squirrel buddy coming back for another nut. . .

River view from my kitchen window . . .

I've lived in town with a little garage and a small house for 13 years. My garage was not for parking the daily drivers - it was for housing the race car. My basement and house were not for living - they were for storing my car parts and 50 tires. Enough. I FINALLY have some SPACE. No more car parts and guns spread all around the living room and dining room. Now I can finally park my DD's in the attached garage while having a separate shop for the EVO. I'm loving it here. It set me back a few months on work time for the EVO and budget for the EVO, but I think in the long run it's going to be better and lead to more productive work. . .

Jarrad my advice take or leave it is if you're going to run someone else's design get the complete package.
I have a slight inkling of what goes into a complete aero package and buying the front with out the matching rear won't work.
Be aware if you're throwing the radiator in the rear it's going to create all sorts of airflow issues too that will require cfd modelling to match it in.
Also you buy someone else's design you won't get their setup angles and secrets - this can with serious aero amount to major differences in the track.
I'm at work today till late your time - message me on Facebook if you want to discuss this , if you're still awake I can call you , just want to see you avoid a few put falls I've found or fallen into .

I dropped off the block and head today at the machine shop to get the O-ringing done so Pure Tuning can finally put my engine together. Aaron over at Pure Tuning just finished up the head port job last week, said he picked up a few more CFM than his last job. Hopefully I'll have some good pictures to share before too long. I also got a sneak peak of my custom made solid copper gasket. This thing is awesome! Hopefully it works as well as it looks!

I will definitely pick your brain before I make any final decisions. Going to email AB one of these days to check into some modeling service and other aero advice.

This build is too expensive for my taste! Jk this is awesome I just hope the dreams become reality. Too many times have I seen evo owners get so deep into their projects just to quit and dissapear.

Keep on keeping on!!!!

Working on a jig to locate all the necessary mount points before I chop the front end. I will use this to locate where the mounts will need to be for things like headlights when I make the tubular structure. I bolted washers in all the existing threaded holes, then tied all the washers together with thin solid rod. Now when I unbolt it, it should come off as one solid, repeatable piece.

Every washer is triangulated to make it very stiff to keep the proper location. The only thing I'm not sure on is if I need to go back over each weld with a torch before I unbolt it to stress-relieve the structure so nothing moves on me. . . Any ideas?

Great to see some updates on this build, looking forward to more! And the new house/garage look awesome! I wouldn't at all mind something similar to your house/garage setup in a couple years!
